That is rarely called in that situation , it's usually play on. Either way, Gasol's foul was obviously worse, and not called. If you're gonna call 1, call the other. He gave Aldridge very little room to land + all the body contact.
Gay jumped so wildly at him that it was very easy for Gasol to wait for the contact. It was a foul.

NO TECH FOR POP GET YOUR ASS IN THE GAME AND COACH POP OR QUITE
YOU ARE BAD TO WIN
That’s true. Roleplayers like Dante having an off night has been penalized harder in his grades etc. Lamarcus needs to make shots or this team isn’t going to be good. He takes too many and is central to their offense so he needs to be better.
Frankly part of the reason I am not sure who the Spurs can trade for to make them better is that Lamarcus is still central to the team and he’s not playing well offensively. Your all star can’t make shots more often than not you lose.
I didn’t watch entire game so I am not really going to comment on grades. Timvp does a fine job with the reviews but the Aldridge slump is a trend.

"It just sucks," Rudy Gay said. "We worked our asses off. It's crazy that one play is going to define the whole game." On a foul ending for the Spurs against Memphis:
The rule says nothing about how anybody jumps. The rule doesn't care whether a player jumps like Rudolf Nureyev, or like a kangaroo.
Gasol was not standing there waiting. He stepped forward. Again, look at his feet.
It was not a foul on Rudy. Gasol initiated the contact by stepping forward into Rudy (exactly the same as Gasol would do near the basket, btw. However, the rules are different near the basket.)
The refs blew the call.
by fine, I mean LA plays well enough so we can trade his ass out of San Antonio.
Agreed with Rudy tho. It’s just a game that doesn’t give you a good feeling...

The non-call tonight on Gasols contest of Aldridge was in the same spot on the AT&T Center floor where Derek Fisher didn't foul Brent Barry in the 2008 playoffs.
That contact by Gay on Gasol can be called a foul, but they usually allow more contact in the last seconds of the game which is why plays like this one never get called and should be a no-call
Gasol clearly fouled Aldridge and it was a worse foul than the one Gay commited. So if you call it on one end, you must call it on the other as well. It's also totally re ed to say LaMarcus would've missed anyway as he took the jumper right by the 3-point line and went straight up. He can shoot 3s. This has to be 3 free throws
Aldridge got pushed in the back on many attempts all night otherwise he would've shot 50%. And if not for those 2 bogus free throws he would've outplayed Gasol (stat wise). So I have no idea what people want from him. He played hard and even Memphis fans say they fouled the out of Aldridge. This loss wasn't on him at all.
On defense it was a straight lay up line. I would've liked to see White guard Conley instead of Forbes/Mills. Pop's schemes can only do so much, with proper scouting and execution you can clearly take advantage of our poor defenders. Pop went with Gay/Bertans as the forward combo in the 4th to have more size out there and get stops
Don't bother. He's low functioning.
Gasol did a better job of selling the foul.

2 minute report says the only other missed call was DDR being held before the inbound to Gasol.
LOL.
Pretty impressive that the refs missed contact with the arm, body and feet (didn't let him land) right after that touch foul on the other end. At least the NBA admits the refs got it wrong, I guess.
my butt feels better now
For real though, Kyle can't be T'ed up for kicking the ball (normally would be) because the light was already red?
Thank you for the game grades and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family timvp. That was the worst officiating I've experienced and can tell you the crowd got a collective kick in the crouch by that horrible reffing. There is not one person on planet earth that can say that Gasol didn't foul LMA. After the previous call it was downright ridiculous. I hope complaints are lodged....but even if the NBA says 'my bad' we still get the L. The refs gave everybody in the building who had spent > $1 million in tickets a nice Thanksgiving present.
Some good film for those guys to watch though with all the defensive mistakes....and Beli....Lord he was bad.
Rudy, working hard is part of your job description--along with every other player on the court and the refs for that matter. Sometimes the virtues of hard word don't pay off---SO YOU HAVE TO LEARN HOW TO CHEAT AND GET AWAY WITH IT.
I'd be sore too if I weren't already numb ever since the Staples clock "malfunction"
