Sell high means to sell something when it is most valuable. Does your mom still dress you in the morning?

Dejounte Murray says high, he's out & Forbes/Fatty are getting lit up by PGs on the daily.
I would be a motivated seller.
Precisely
Forbes is on a 2 year deal worth 6 million. That's 3 million a year. Starting by default, the 4th leading scorer but probably the most consistent player on the team and leading the team in 3pt percentage. He is doing more than his job. This is GREAT value. He hustles hard, working to continously improve his game. He is great value for the cap and still has youth and upside. In 2 years, somebody will pay him 6-7 million a year. Much better value than either Bertans, and Marco. Nobody would want Bertans, but Marco possibly by reputation, but you wont get much.
At one point, Pop praised George Hill as his favorite player. He even said that Hill was our PG of the future and started "shopping" Parker. He did this to inflate Hill's value and was able to trade him for Leonard, Bertans, and a Euro who never came over (Lorbek?). If there is a chance to inflate Forbes value and trade him, do it.
All great points. I just don’t see the value of having both Patty and Forbes going forward. I would love to keep Forbes and trade Patty, but I don’t think they will do it. Even if they wanted to trade him, Spurs wouldn’t get anything of value back and may have to include a pick or two. Forbes has only another year left on his bargain contract. After that he may leave or require 8+ million a year to re-sign. If you want to trade him, the time to trade him is this season or the offseason.
Even with a "high value" Forbes, what is the best thing you can get for him? A second rounder? Not worth it, tbh.
You package him with Pau’s expiring and that’s how you get more value. Just him by himself isn’t much.
He does not make enough money to bring back anything of value stand alone. He’s also developing nicely and great value. I mean if he helps get a deal done, ok, but they shouldn’t be looking to move him.
Sure, but Forbes really isn't worth a whole lot. GMs know he's undersized and can't play defense. He's a Gary Neal type player at this point with only one skill, shooting. That's good for *maybe* an underperforming rookie, but probably not even worth a 2nd rounder.
Selling high on Forbes right now is, what, two second round picks?
Where's Gary Neal now? It seems Spurs role players lose their powers when they go to other teams.
Sounds about right.
Rather sell high on Gay. Can Rudy even get a late first rounder?
I think he tried asking me for some spare change yesterday but I flipped him off, took off my shoes and easily ran away from him.
Last sighted in Spain.
About the value of Forbes, there's this:
Jeff McDonald: Pop was asked if Bryn Forbes reminds him any of Gary Neal. Pop: “No. … He reminds me of Steph Curry.”
Sounds SuperMax to me.
What team would want a decent one dimensional 2 point shooter who can only play 25 games a year on a bad Achilles? Even DeMarcus Cousins could only get vet min with a bad Achilles
Now is the time to trade him. I’d prefer trading Patty, but that is not happening. DJ going to be back healthy next year. Gasol, Forbes, filler and/or one of the first round picks for what?
The dumbest thing Pop has ever said, tbh. Unless he meant Seth Curry and/or was misquoted, tbh.
now is the worst time to trade forbes. he's under contract for 2.9 mil next season.
His value is plummeting now. We could have easily gotten a second rounder for him. Maybe he can get that Gattaca surgery and become two inches taller in the offseason.
