Jersey retirement for these Players...

A player should need to be an all-star level player to get his jersey retired, imho.

Disagree. I feel like any NBA accolades should be taken into consideration, as should team role.

Bowen was an 8-time All-NBA Defense player (5 1st teams, 3 2nd teams)...7 with the Spurs.

It's also an absolute crime that he was never given DPOY with the Spurs. The same goes for Duncan tbh...being on the same team probably worked against them both in that regard.

Most importantly, Bowen was a starter and KEY piece of the 3 championships he won with the Spurs. They might not win any of those without his defense.

Avery and Sean got their retirements mostly for sentimental reasons. Elliott was only a 2-time All-Star and only earned 1 ring. AJ was a bit player who was just lucky that he was able to hit the first clutch jumpshot of his career at the right time.

Bruce is more deserving than either of those two imo.

What did avery johnson do that diaw didint do? Or LMA is clearly a bigger a contributor than Avery.

Bowen was worthy as he should have won multiple DPOY awards but he got screwed. No one in OP's list deserves any awards.

If LMA wins a le here or plays for many more years at this level then I could see that but as it stands right now its a firm no.

Mills would be a disgraceful selection and LMA unfortunately has to ring here to earn that status. Bobo was huge in our 2014 run but he shouldn’t have his jersey retired here also.

And Bowen definitely deserved to have his jersey retired.
