Triple doubles are so overrated. It's fine when it comes organically but these days there are too many being manufactured.
wouldn't be manufactured for Kyle tbh... why? I think it's tougher to even achieve in a team that is currently struggling offensively as the Grizzlies are, and which doesn't play a fast tempo. If you see on the highlights only one assist came out of a set the rest were "organically"... Grizzlies have little incentive to pad his stats unless they wanted to trade him which seems unlikely this season.

Congrats to him. It probably won't be his last as utilitarian as he is. The NBA swiss army knife.

Meh his team lost like 10 out of their last 12 or something ridiculous like that. Dude wouldn't fit on any part of this spurs team tbh. He doesn't space the floor for the starters and he doesn't shoot enough open looks for the bench. Belli, Patty, and Marco all have the green light when they see any open space to shoot and fathead doesn't have that gunners mentality.

That’s funny cause I remember a topic here where OP was asking which Spur would be the next to post a TD, I voted Anderson at the time. So glad he shuts mouths on ST.

You forgot Mills. Should be Belli, Patty, Marco, and Mills, tbh.

    Literally never asked that

you must be thinking of someone else tbh. Kyle is a decent player, just not worth the price we would of had to play for him.

Fathead's usg rate has gone up over the last 10 games or so, which also funny enough lines up with the terrible stretch the Grizzlies are having

The offense on this team has been beautiful to watch now that Fathead and Danny are gone. The beautiful game died when he got drafted and came back when he left. That's not a coincidence. As for their defense, it's always been overrated as I have always said. Spurs rank top 5 defensively over their last 15 games.

Can't be a reluctant scorer in this league. Kyle seems to loathe it.

Of course, Kyle is a nobody so he wouldn't get others to buy in on boosting his stats. My point is that the value of the triple double has diminished because of excessive manufacturing. I look at the Thunder and I see Russ 2 for 15 but 11 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists and I think "he stopped being interested in point total and is focusing on the triple double count only now".

Since it can be manufactured, and it is being manufactured, the tendency is to almost ignore the stat line.

He's averaging 14.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists with 2.0 steals and 1.0 blocks a night over his last five games and has scored in double figures all but one game in the last 10. He's not a guy that has been a scorer but has stepped up when asked to do so bc the Grizzlies are struggling. Is he going to be Paul George and lift a team up singlehandedly? No, nor is he paid to be that, unlike a Batum and Chandler Parsons and a few true other overpaid forwards in this league.

Three guys on the Grizzlies get paid over 3 times his salary and are streaky and less reliable and one is on the injury list and should retire.

I see guys making a case to trade for Batum, who makes 3 times Kyle's salary and is producing less
,specially in the last month. Wish him the best.

Similar to Jimmer's numbers when he was a starter for a seven-game stint for the Kings, except not as high in scoring. I'm pretty sure Anderson is beating him in minutes per game though. Jimmer was only at about 30 MPG if that.

I see flashes of the beautiful game when the bench unit comes in and I can't help but think of how Fathead would have ruined it as he passes up wide open shot after wide open shot

It's still an issue with him. It almost cost Memphis that game against SA earlier in the year. In fact, it would have had Anderson not blocked LMA on the other end after ruining a critical possession for his club. It's amazing. The dude just straight refuses to fix such an obvious issue.
