There's 2 midgets on the court in the perimeter guarding bigger players and shot putrid but op wants to pin it on the blocking out of rebounds. What happens when you get a switch and it's a midget thats blocking out?

    God help the spurs lol

Aldridge is the least of it. The Spurs need to fix about a dozen other things before even thinking about LMA.

File, I guess we agree to disagree on DeMar, I think he gets so much hate here because of who he is replacing. But DeMar is still an elite NBA player. I really like our core of DeMar, DJ, Derrick White, and Gay. What we need is a big that boxes out, can defend on the perimeter, sets hard screens, and rolls to the basket, and overall is agile and durable. And LaMarcus is none of those things.

In today's game we lost important defensive rebounds because LA did not box out his man. That was with the game on the line.

So let me rephrased it; while we are having our worst rodeo road trip, in our history, instead of coming in focused and ready he wilts under pressure. We lost in Toronto because of him and we lost today because of him again.
We pretty much agree my friend but i just want a fresh start with the young guys and tank for a cornerstone player that we don't have at the moment. We can't tank with Derozan on the team and we can't have championship aspirations either. What does that make us, a treadmill of mediocrity, we can't have that, not the Spurs that i learned and love throughout the years. LMA is a very outdated player, there is no room for fadeaway two's, you either go to the basket strong or shoot 3's and you go for a 2 point jumper only when its open. He's only going to regress from now on.

I think LMA is serviceable. He's not the problem, but a backup PG when White is down, an athletic lockdown SF who can put in another 12 points, 6 rebounds and occasionally block shots. We'll be better next year, but till then I hope Spurs get something from the waivers to ease the pain of watching this team suck

Don’t worry, Aldridge isn’t gonna want to stick around with this team after THIS season. I imagine he’ll want to be traded again.

For real, I could see that happening before the Spurs want to trade him. With team wide performances like last night, even squeaking into the playoffs is looking difficult.

Pop knows the team stinks but it's less stinky for him at his old age to deal with this current iteration then having to deal with some Spurs version of the Suns but instead of Booker he has Dejounte leading the tanksters.

It's like the part of a roller coaster ride where it is just going downhill. Even as bad as it's been they're not even in that freefall speed yet and it's probably gonna get way worse then then worst we've seen so far.

Maybe I'm too pessimistic, but growing up in the NY area and not that the Knicks were ever this dominant powerhouse as the Spurs have been, but they were at least decent to pretty good and Starks and Ewing were fun to watch. Thinking back to those times I never would have foreseen how awful they would be for years and years on end. Not trying to compare them except to say the fall comes fast and sure can last a long time.

LMA can be good. He can dominate downlow. But problem is, if he still believes that he can lead a team to a championship then he needs to go. But if he can finally come to the realization that he can't be the #1 guy on a true contender, that he needs to just do whatever it takes to win one, whether its being option #2/3/4 or even a bench player, then he can still be serviceable.

Aldridge's game is absolute garbage. He will never take a team past the second round at best and -even on his best nights - all one needs to do is send a double team if he is dominating to neutralize him since he's the worst passer ever. And he can't even shoot the three? GARBAGE.

One can only hope he goes into diva mode again and requests a trade so this team can finally rebuild properly instead of floating in NBA purgatory.

    Yep.
When he had that hot streak earlier this season including the 52 point game (or whatever it was).
Might have gotten some good trade offers at the time.
    but
we've got to send Pop out with another 1st round exit

I dont see any market for LMA. Unless the Spurs take another teams bad signing. I agree with many hear that LMA is the least of the Spurs problems, but a lack of defensive minded players. Also the Spurs lack a vocal leader that hungers to win. You can clearly see nobody is communicating or showing that urgency on the floor. Somebody looking to takeover a quarter. Perhaps that guy will emerge from either Dejounte or Derrick White going forward. If anyone does need to be traded it is Demar DeRozan. He is one dimensional, offensive player that lacks a killer instinct and leadership.

He's about the only decent player the Spurs have left. Makes sense to let him go.
