i remember the interview before the 2014 finals. Duncan was en mad lmao I’ve never really seen him like that with the media and from there you knew Miami was done
Because he was no longer distracted by his estrangement from his wife. His wounds weren't completely healed, but, they were no longer sending messages to his physiological "motherboard." He'd become (still). He was able to see (clearly) now..."To be honest, and I won't admit this to another living soul, but, I'm better off."

    It was over.

The timing of this Duncan event was exquisite. Did (she) mark the time, this timing,,,we'll never know, but, the real results are in the books.

Duncan didn't lose 6. He had 32 & 17 and could have easily had the game-sealing 18th if Pizza Face hadn't been an all-time dumbass.

LeBron was still great in that series. It's not like Kawhi held him to zero. These were his stat lines

    https://www.basketball-reference.com...-vs-spurs.html

    game 1
    LeBron 9/17 25pts 6rb 3ast 3stl 4TO
    Kawhi 3/5 9pts 2rb 1stl 4TO

    game 2
    LeBron 14/22 35pts 10rb 3ast 2stl 4TO
    Kawhi 3/9 9pts 2rb 3ast 1stl 0TO

    game 3
    LeBron 9/14 22pts 5rb 7ast 5stl 7TO
    Kawhi 10/13 29pts 4rb 2ast 2stl 2blk 1TO

    game 4
    LeBron 10/17 28pts 8rb 2ast 3TO
    Kawhi 7/12 20pts 14rb 3ast 3stl 3blk 1TO

    game 5
    LeBron 10/21 31pts 10rb 5ast 2blk 1TO
    Kawhi 7/10 22pts 10rb 2ast 1stl 1blk 3TO

Though he had enough on the ball to get under your skin & out of town. How you could let him escape is criminal.

While I don’t expect any star player to sit the fourth quarter of an NBA finals game, Lebron essentially stat padded the last three games.
