This season would be even more miserable (sans the occasional surprise big win) without Millstone tearing it up. Well done, mate.

FIBA Patty is a different animal tbh. This is the best version of Mills that I've seen since 2014. He's way more consistent with his shooting. I guess the world cup got him in some kind of rhythm early and has benefited his game during the season. His hustle plays on defense help offset the points that he gives up as well. Patty always draws a charge or gets a steal. Definitely worth the contract right now
His shooting suffers greatly when he has to play PG. And to his credit, it's not like he asked to be our PG off the bench last year, but Murray's injury forced Pop's hand.

He is and always will be a more efficient spot up shooter first. Then his next most effective is coming off LaMarcus' handoff ball screens. Then his least effective is dribbling into it or dribbling coming around a ball screen.

This year, his shots have largely been of the first and second type.

I said it in another thread, the Spurs have a very good 5-man backcourt rotation - Dumbmar, Dijon, Derrick, Lonnie and Patty. They need to get a starting-caliber SF so that Dumbmar can go back to his natural position at SG. With a legit SF, Dumbmar, Lonnie and even Marco could play enough spot minutes at SF to make this team decent - and a lot easier to watch with Forbes nailed to the bench (or traded).

I thought the same, but when I researched his shooting percentages on catch-and-shoots and off the dribble pull-ups the percentages were almost identical last season. surprised me

He's always had a habit of getting in trouble and dumping the ball off to someone else who's forced to throw up a bad shot, or get the TO. I compiled a bunch of video clips on it a couple of years ago. I don't know about his FG%, but his value/effectiveness def suffers when he's forced to play PG. Maybe it's different this year. I got so conditioned to hating him that I may not be objective.

I prefer to see him out there instead of Forbes. Unfortunately you'll too often see both midgets out there together.
