And as a huge Dark Tower nerd, remdesivir is the best thing out of Gilead since Roland Deschain, amirite?
Y'all say what you want, but I'm pumped for my annual shareholders' meeting, conducted via Zoom (Ticker, ZM) obviously
And as a huge Dark Tower nerd, remdesivir is the best thing out of Gilead since Roland Deschain, amirite?
running in group from one wonder drug to the other on a daily basis will not only tire you but will obliterate younwhen you have to face reality and adjust your life to the virus
but did you get your discount on your car insurance?
I’m one of the few that accepted early on there will be no vaccine for this for possibly a year or two or even longer.
People misunderstand why fauchi thinks this is good news, we know it can be treated now, so we have an idea in what to research to make better medications.
More happy horse from Team Trump. If it shortens the sickness that's cool though
But Tucker Carlsen :
TUCKER CARLSON SAYS FAUCI HAS BEEN 'WRONG REPEATEDLY,'
CONDEMNS CALL FOR NATIONAL QUARANTINE AS 'NATIONAL SUICIDE'
https://www.newsweek.com/tucker-carlson-says-fauci-has-been-wrong-repeatedly-condemns-call-national-quarantine-1496085
... but now Fauci is believable, not lying?
We wouldn't need 5 billion, just 1 billion ( Africa, China, India, other yellow/browns until whitey gets his) and even then, it is highly unlikely we can manufacture 1 billion in 6 months.
If their is easy, rapid, widely testing available, the drug is widely available and you have risk factors and studies show the drug is capable of arresting the virus if given very early in onset why wouldn’t you take it? I imagine early administration in a high risk group could be the next target study. Plenty of nursing homes out there to test it on.
Just finished The Stand (perfect for a quarantine considering it involves a pandemic and you can use it as a deadly weapon in case someone breaks in for your TP stash).
About to start the DT series.
If you're talking remdesivir, it is administered intravenously for between 5-10 days. It is not widely available, and requires someone to administer each dose. Not scalable, but a building block for a better treatment.
I know it’s administered IV. I include the widely available caveat, enough for high risks. IV administration means you go to the doctors office each time for a 1/2 hour infusion. Any study for effectiveness in this setting would no doubt include minimal number of infusions required. Just conjecture but I suspect this study will be done. Just catching and arresting nursing home outbreaks would knock out a good chunk of the mortalities.
A better diet rich in zinc, vitamins D and C would be a better idea.
The early days of lockdown ed me up because I had just finished the stand. If I could do it again, I’d do the stand first, then the DT series. You’re in for a treat.
multivitamins are mostly useless waste of money. simple for simple people
best vitamins come from nutrition for fresh, unprocessed foods, not from stuff in plastic bottles or "neutraceuticals", none of which are regulated.
vit C in the body has a 1/2 life of 15 minutes, taking 20 x 1K vit C is effectively all gone within an hour.
btw, the usual Vit C is only about 50% bio-available (50% excreted)
several mushrooms, available in bulk powder/Amazon, tune up the immune system, while onions, garlic are anti-microbial, anti-viral
several foods are anti-inflammatory.
It's the intense, systemic inflammation caused by the raging immune system (cytokine storm) that damages or kills you, not the virus.
One of the freaky syndromes is victims coming for treatment with "flu-like" symptoms, nothing severe, but with serum oxygen levels in the 70s, where any doc seeing 90 or below would demand urgent care.
oximeters on amazon and banggood.
yeah, man. I'm excited. I bought The Stand and a box of other assorted King books for about 20 bucks on Ebay. Luckily, one of those in the box was The Gunslinger; I had always wanted to get into the series and now I can. Can't wait.![]()
Isn't that vaccine going to be manufactured in India? Gotta think India will force them to turn over a lot of it to their nation.
Just crazy how fast we can mobilize and manufacture a war machine, but saving the world...we somehow can't get right logistically. LOL.
Not really crazy, imo, considering that a bulk of all spending goes into our military. The system is literally built to run the military-industrial machine. Protecting the most vulnerable of it's population and most essential of it's workforce? Not so much.
It really depends on who finds the formula(s), and where they manufacture. Regardless, it's not like there are massive novel virus vaccine manufacturing facilities just waiting to go. Just think of the problems with manufacturing with simple items, like tests or PPE, now imagine scaling that to a highly scientific concoction. Not easy.
Well, in historical context, we weren't a military power before WW2 and we weaponized pretty fast.
The bulk of the interstate highway system was built in less than 10 years. You can't get a pot hole fixed in six weeks nowadays.
Just seems massive tasks are done far slower despite the insane technological growth of the times.
