I got a job at Just For Feet.
Five days later, my high school was having hazing/initiation rituals for the freshmen.
I quit that day.
no regrets.
well actually, yeah...I had just found out a way to steal shoes, but never got the opportunity.

working at a Christmas tree lot when I was 14. Minimum wage at the time was $3.35. The guy was from Michigan and asked what minimum wage here was...I told him.

Migrant worker.
An entrepeneur mowing yards from the time I was 12 but the first "paycheck" was from National Gun Club when I was 15...getting up at 2 in the morning chasing down and catching pigeons in a pigeon coop ankle deep in pigeon and putting them in crates and taking them up to the pavilion so rich guys could shoot them...$1.25 an hour and I got 142 hours one week...damn...I was really pissed off when I saw how much they took out in taxes...
If you dont count mowing lawns for parents/neighbors, then my first real job was at Rooty's at 281/Bitters.
Yes, I still have the recipe for the Root Beer. Be nice.
For my 1st foray into the working world at age 12 I got myself 2 jobs.
*Delivering the paper after school - I had 3 routes. It took 2 1/2hrs and 3 return trips home (cause I had to carry those papers in a bag over my shoulder.... which reminds me: sunday was a !) I averaged about $80 a week including tips.
*Shoveling snow. I took over an older kid's neighborhood hook-ups when he got a "real" job at a music store. I had about 8 solid cutomers. $35 for driveways, $10 for frontwalk and stoop, and and extra $5 included the sidewalk.

after that it was just a long progression of "under the counter" type jobs.

housesitting
dogwalking
house cleaning
late night janitorial
even balancing the books at a small engine repair buisness in Victoria. they paid me with cash and favors.
the day I turned 16 I got my 1st "paycheck" job. busgirl @ Siesta restaurant. I had never made so little money in my life.
I was a hostess at the Magic Time Machine.
Did a stint at an animal shelter one summer during the junior high years. Also did the lawn mowing circuit.
I worked at sea world as a person that told you the meaning of your name, put your name on a grain of rice, and carved names onto rings. It was a pretty boring job that you had to stand up at all day long in the sun

no they trained us for that , i couldnt take that damn job, i felt like a damn mexican trying to sell oranges and . I quit that place after embezzling thousands of dollars....ha ha haha ha ha j/k.

it actually was just the meaning of your name when i first started, then this ugly mexican with a huge mole on her forehead took over as GM and made us add the name on a rice thing and carving your name on rings.....i hated the whole ordeal

Besides being a paper boy fom 11-12 yrs old, I worked at an Italian restaurant as a dishwasher and part time pizza maker when I was 13-14 yrs old. The restaurant was owned by a family that we knew. I also delivered pizza to the bar accross the street and made some tips from that. I stayed in the restaurant business every year util after I graduated from dental school.
I worked for my mom at the business she owned on a need-party-money basis.
Delivering telephone books. Wasn't a real job, being that it was a temporary thing but it was some type of job and it was my first.
My dad chained me to a tractor when I was 12.
"Thank you for stopping at McDonald's. Can I take your order?"

Fiesta Texas. I guess most of the people here aren't young enough for the SeaWorld/Fiesta Texas/Quest trifecta.
All the early twenty years old have worked at one of those three places, or that INfoNxx place.
Maybe they are hiring again.......
