This a state issue. They should handle it during their elections. This isn't a federal issue.
State unemployment is extremely hard to actually obtain. In TX the state is more likely to deny than accept, even if you're broke. I've applied twice, lost twice. They'll always find a backdoor way to deny you if they can. Especially due to "at will" employment the employer can always report any false information that they want and are incentivized by the state to do so such to minimize approval of unemployment benefits.
