One thing for sure is that SF and athletic bigs always move up when draft occurs it’s not uncommon to see these guys who have been mocked as second round picks move up to late or even mid first round.

Its not a bad idea, tbh. There are some interesting international players . Avidja is obviously the best of bunch, and they'd be crazy not to take him if he somehow falls to 11 or they have a top 5 pick. I do like Hayes a lot too.

If they acquire a late first then Maledon or Pokusevski are fine flyers tbh.

Yeah I am really hoping we can somehow get a 24 to 30 pick in the first with a trade. They going to be a lot of really good PF and C going in that area. Ie Poki, Urto, Paul, Tillman etc.

I doubt they’ll be pick shopping. They’re a non playoff team with a payroll $11M over the cap, and only 12 players under contract, and that includes partial deals for Metu, Lyles, and Zeller. It does not include a deal for Poeltl, or Eubanks, who’s two way deal is expiring.

I don't think finances would stop a trade down with Boston or some such - say 14 (grizz pick) and 30 for 11. That adds less than $1 Million to the 11th pick salary and fills 2 spots on the roster.

Take the best non-guard available wherever he's from.

This team isn't set anywhere. If the projected clear best prospect available is a guard, select them and sort it out later.

With the Covid Hysteria and No NCAA tournament, the Spurs will rely on their alleged strength, European Scouting.

    Leopard don't change its spots.

    Recent Example of this.

Keldon is their "Highest rated player at his position " (SF) he is a blue chipper at a basketball factory in America, but still they pick Luka Euro at 19. This is despite the fact that Demar DeRozan is playing out of position at SF and you just traded your Mute Cancer SF Robot for him and you have ANOTHER Euro player who is playing well that is basically Luka's template, Davas Bertans.

So, YEAH, they are almost certainly picking a Euro Player.

    Cross your fingers.....
    You're out of touch.
Seven of the Spurs last eight draft picks have been domestic... the idea of a euro bias is just an old story that isn't true.
Using Keldon Johnson as an example of anything doesn't really make sense... 28 teams passed on him before the Spurs picked him.

Aldridge to Miami for Olynyk and the 20th pick would solve the financial issues and add an additional pick tbh

Yup. There are no TD/Manu/Parker tier players on the current roster where you can say with confidence that the position is secure for years to come.

Why do so many people on here keep saying “If the Spurs move into the top-4” like we have a good chance or something. The chances are slim to none of that happening. We’re almost certainly going to be picking at #11.

Yes, his skillset is promising. But 200 lbs at 7'0?

He’d obviously have to put on a ton of weight over his first 3-4 years, but it’s doable. Giannis came into the league at 19 years old at 6’9 196 lbs and now he’s 7’0 240 lbs.

With that said, this guy ain’t Giannis and taking him at 11 would be a massive reach imo. I know he’s only 18 but his compe ion in Europe was weak he didn’t even put up big numbers against them. He’s a project for sure.

i watched vids of him and yeah his skills set is really impressive but his body structure, muscle etc not. he must put some weight, improve his defense and grow up to eliminate teenage fantasy mistakes. Thats 2yrs of work and probably be send to gleague. for now hes not ready for an nba. he has no chances with almost every center and power forwards offensively and defensively. u can compare him to giannis but thats a different type of body.

3 teams did it last year. That was the first lottery where they drew for 4 teams instead of 3, and with the newer flattened odds. The Spurs chances are just about 10% to move into one of those 4 draft spots.

I'm pretty underwhelmed by this draft, I have to admit. Pokusevski as a project is more interesting then most of the bigs generally listed before him. But I do generally trust the ability of the Spurs to scout talent, so it'll be more interesting than usual to see who they pick in this strangest of NBA seasons.

Yeah feel the same if we jump in the top four I will jump for joy but if we drafting at 11 I will trust who ever they pick. We need to improve at almost every position so hopefully they take the best player but to be honest not much separates 11 to 20 in this years draft.
