this team has really bad losses guys. I mean we lost to a team that has lost 20 in a row. This one wasn't surprising.

I can only stomach so much more Rudy as a small ball 5...

Luka probably telling his agent don't even pick up the phone when the spurs call to talk about an extension in 2 years...

Dude went from guarding an all star in Julius Randle straight up and stonewalling him to watching Rudy Gay the bed in the 4th like he always does...

+/- in aggregate loses its context so I try not to put too much stock into on/off numbers over the course of a season

But last night Derozans -12 tells the whole story. He was invisible offensively in the first half while Charlotte ran out to a double digit lead and watched as Hayward cooked him on defense and was attacked by any hornet that had him as their match up.

He bounced back in the second half offensively but his defensive effort never really improved. He was hidden with more success later in the ball game, but that’s not exactly a W.

Derozan is an enigma. Underappreciated in some aspects but gets a pass in other areas. His lack of 3 point shooting and ability to contribute defensively is starting to become an obvious sore spot for this team.

I’ve also yet to see a game where it looks as though the Dejounte/Derrick/Demar line ups are working to full offensive effect. I don’t even see the flashes of potential of a trio there. Derrick is the only one of the 3 that is a threat off the ball and looks for the 3 point shot. Otherwise you relegate dejounte or Demar to standing in the corner waiting for their turn to iso.

It is clear as day that derozan is a really good player. He makes this team better even in general despite games here and there were it might not be the case. But it’s also true that the Demar derozan spurs are less than the sum of their parts.

This was one of those games that sucks the wind out of your sails as a fan. For whatever reason Pop likes to trade wins with his former assistants, but this one was not good. Pretty listless effort by our guys.

Any more losses like this and Pop is going to loose this team
I don't think so. The young players on this team (the only ones who matter) revere Pop.

In part because it's something the Spurs consider when drafting -- will this player probably end up revering Pop?

Pop won't lose this team. They are convinced (correctly I think) that things are on track.
