the "price gouging" bill was trash tbh
sure but the legislative process includes a negotiative process. GOP policy in all statehouses and in DC is to not even allow certain issues to be debated.

i hold no water for the dem party. they are corrupt as but do you not think there would be merit in society for a public debate on important issues at the highest level?

Big finance doesn't want to lend Big oil the money for new refineries because they think the oil price will come down like it always does

Plus there are other ways to spend their money to get quicker returns

You can explain that if you want. I doubt you can. I guarantee you Big Oil is doing everything they can to produce as much oil as they can at these prices. But when you've got foreign countries artificially controlling supply, there's only so much that can be done.

Libya’s oil production has almost fully halted as a political crisis leads to more shutdowns of ports and fields.

The OPEC member’s daily output -- which averaged 1.2 million barrels last year -- is down by about 1.1 million barrels, Oil Minister Mohamed Oun told Bloomberg on Monday. That suggests Libya is pumping only about 100,000 barrels a day. “Almost all the oil and gas activities in the east of Libya are being shut down,” Oun said. In the south-west, the 40,000 barrel-a-day Wafa field is the only one with continuous production, he said.

Ultimately, there might not be much to beg for. There's plenty of articles talking about the Saudis declining reserves and whether or not they can increase production enough to keep prices in check. The fact that prices are so high but the Saudi production has decreased is pretty concerning.
