Victor is going to be worth way more than the super max just on team profit alone.
i guess theres 2 ways of determining if someone is worthy of a supermax

the way described in your post is "is he generating enough money/revenue for the franchise to warrant paying him a salary that high"

the way i look at it is "is he doing enough to generate wins and driving us toward championships to justify taking up that much of our salary cap space"

ideally both are true, though as a fan of the team i only care about the second

A third is, sadly, do we lose out on superior talent if we don't extend this player?

Jaylen Brown is a number three. He also wins games, but I don't think he's with a super max and never will be.

Wembanyama, however, will be both one and two.

might see more Wemby at center. wont happen today of course, and i have some skepticism that it would be a viable lineup, but still want to eventually see some collins/wemby/sochan lineups in preseason

in that third scenario, imo the prudent move is just to trade that player. tatum is still 25. sure, if he wad 33, i'd say screw it, do whatever you can to keep the window open. but tatum, porzingis, white, holiday, horford, plus would they'd have gotten back in a brown trade probably is still good enough to compete

In fairness, when they gave Brown the extension they didn't know that Holiday would be available. But it will still be a burdensome contract.

they have an awesome team right now, but outside of a championship this season, there will be buyers remorse fairly quickly imo

I would just like to say that for the game against the Thunder I paid for a subscription to Bally so I could watch the game. Then, after getting off work today, I went to Bally and found out that I have to have TNT for tonight’s game—frustrating—but I immediately went and paid for a service that carried TNT. I would have never done paid for this last year. Lol

Spurs really could use time to see how Keldon and Jeremy work next to Wembanyama. If KJ can't play preseason this almost cements a starting five with Sochan in it.

Last game vs. Thunder the team was smaller than what Pop probably wants to run, with Collins-Wemby as a front line and then Champagnie as more of a traditional SF. I suspect he'd rather have Johnson or Sochan as the third frontcourt player.
Me thinks Keldon might be the odd man out and Spurs just don't care how he fits
