Now that we've got a large enough sample size, it's clear that this isn't working.
Sometimes you don't have to wait until you get lost if you already see you're heading in the wrong direction... it's better to course correct... Sohan doesn't have natural passer instincts like Tre... And he can't penetrate like like a LeBron (huge PG that can penetrate... Pause)... A PG needs to be able to do at least one of these to be effective

Sochan is a huge benefit on defense and does a lot of other little things. I'd rather give him a lot more than 4 games to try to settle into the role. Besides, they both finished the Phoenix game down the stretch. Starting isn't always the most important thing.

"They fouled him, the refs didn't call it," Vogel said. "They whacked him on the arm before the ball gets ripped out of his hands. No call. In a situation like that, we try to get a quick inbounds to our 90% free-throw shooter, and we did."

Altho Tre did foul him. Check the :37 vicinity below.

You're never going to see a call in that cir stance. He failed to secure the ball and was making it available. The foul wasn't clear anyway.

Try doing that to any one of the Golden gots at the end of a game. You'll see a call.

:37 mark you can clearly see Tre had jumped up and completely lands on Durbetta. It's foul.
    Take your homer glasses off.

But yes refs generally let that slide and we have ZERO tears for Durbetta.

Reggie Miller is literally saying "they might want to call a time out to advance it" as the Spurs get the steal. Vogel & the Suns can complain all they want, but they played the situation like the game was already over, and have nobody to blame but themselves. I'm actually a Durant fan, but him not blocking out or even noticing Wemby on that putback was a crucial mistake... if the situations had been reversed, people would've called it a rookie mistake.

I don't know when this site turned into clutchfans but it's gotten progressively worse every season.

I miss the oldies on ST that didn't hide under their bed the minute the team falls behind by 6 points.
Tbh that is pretty much how all game threads go regardless of era. I'm sure many people here still remember T Park melting down against the Pistons in 2005 and quitting on the team that is nothing new here

Spurs fouled when Tre hit KD in the face, although it was only his finger and not that obvious depending on the angle. If you have watched the NBA long enough you know that the refs don't call light fouls at the end of the game to let the players decide it.

So I started watching this game and saw it was immediately going really badly so I didn’t want to watch another blowout, so I looked up the final score and I couldn’t believe they turned it into a close game and won. So I proceeded to watch the game which was a complete blowout and I’m still not really sure how spurs won. It was like the suns just vomited up and the spurs swallowed at the end. Not very satisfying watching pop avoiding playing Wemby as much as the rest of the team is avoiding passing to him. That come from behind win was the tiest of come from behind wins I’ve seen in a long time.

They did it on Durant. You don't think KD is the most coddled player in the modern era? He was three feet out of bounds once and the ref, standing there, failed to even blow the whistle.

Nah bro this was a no call.

The mistake was not calling a timeout after Wemby's dunk as Reggie Miller mentioned after that play to advance the ball to half court.

    What an emotional game.

Just curious -- what were your expectations of a team going into the season who's average age doesn't even qualify for cheaper car insurance?
I expected them to be able to execute drive and kick basketball.
I expected Vic to be above the average NBA player attacking via the dribble, which he may get to this season, or maybe he won't.

When I say everyone on the team can only just barely dribble the ball, it's not much of an exaggeration, and it's a huge problem that will keep games well out of our reach more often than not. If Keldon or someone starts tenaciously attacking off the bounce with consistency, I'll feel differently. I say Keldon because I have seen flashes of it from him. He needs to lock in his confidence and keep an aggressive downhill mindset. If he doesn't, they can just keep right on losing and we'll draft a confident bouncy cross-overy guard/wing in the lottery. I am just fine either way.

    As a member of.....
    The Golden gots.

But yes Durbetta is a coddled got and i was pleasantly stunned he did not get the foul called on Tre there.

Curry averages 4.3 FTA per game his career. The first season he scored 30 PPG he did it on 5.1 FTAs. The most FTs he's ever got was 6.5 which was last season, where the Dubs had no one else to help him on offense.

Durant averages 7.6 and has had multiple seasons approaching 10 FTA. Curry's career high FTA is lower than KD's average.

Not even in the same ballpark of official coddling.

    Great.

Now tell me the # of Curry shots that are a result of blatant screening fouls by Mouthbreather and other Golden gots.
    Particularly during the *Championship* run.

What sad is these 2 coddled gots were on the same team.
We hadn't seen rigging like that since the Kobme Shaq / Kobme MVPau eras.

Can we get a painting / still shot of the moment right after KJ ripped the ball from Durbetta?
Tre is holding Durbettas arm as if to say "Give it up Pampered One, this is over."

Oooo it took you exactly one post to backpedal.

Curry is the greatest FT shooter in the league, if the refs wanted to hand him 4 more PPG for his career on a platter they could and no one would bat an eye. You're literally talking about the greatest shooter of all-time who's won multiple MVPs is still shooting under 5 FTs per game his entire career. There's 0 chance you can argue that he gets every call with the amount of contact he takes every game. It's a non-starter.

RE: Screens, moving screens are set by every team in the league and the refs never call it, not sure what your point is that GSW does it too. None of that changes the fact that the Dubs would much rather Curry get more fouls called from contact than the refs swallow their whistle like they do for every other team in the league.
