Just watched him, I really like what I saw. Too bad he's gonna miss a few weeks to injury.
Can't say it was unfortunate considering we got Wemby and by the time Leonard started his gotry it was too late to tank for Doncic.

This is a gross exaggeration. Duncan was washed up by the '16 playoff and then retired afterwards so LMA only got 1 year of Duncan and that 1 year was pretty much useless. Now if you want to say LMA choked in '16 you can say that, but Kawhi also choked in that series against the thunder. In year 2 Zaza took out Kawhi so that was the end of any chance the Spurs had to win a le with LMA knowing Kawhi would go awol after that.
Did you say slow?
That's the PICK! Count it!
You can say Duncan was washed by '16 but that's when LMA came so that point is moot. He still got one good season with Duncan, and the Spurs still won 67 game and swept the first round before falling to the Thunder who, by all rights, should have gone to the Finals that year. That was LMA's first shot.
Spurs followed that up by winning 61 games the next season (without Duncan) and still easily made WCF, and looked to be rolling until the Zaza incident happens. So that's two good shots.
Then Kawhi sits out the next season with "injury", then demands a trade...so yes, LMA had every reason to believe he made the right choice until Kawhi decided to be an absolute . There is no way he could have seen that coming...nobody else did.
He still was a good soldier for a couple more years but it was obvious that the time had passed. I know the Spurs used to win 50-60 games every season with the Big 3, but now we should really appreciate how hard that actually is. The way this season is going, we'll be lucky to break 20.
LMA didn't get a good season of Duncan. Duncan was done after the all-star break during LMA's first season with the Spurs. A good season of Duncan would have been him playing at a high level for the whole entire season and the playoffs. LMA didn't get that.
Well, unless LMA could get in a DeLorean and turn back time, he was never going to get that. He signed when he signed, and IMO any season with Duncan was a good season even if he wasn't in MVP form.
That said, he still got two 60+ win seasons with the Spurs and they came up short in in the playoffs.
Then Kawhi left and that was that, which is the entire point I was making.
Is there a future legendary point guard in this class? We need shooting, a set-up man, iso scoring/athleticism, perimeter D.
Does any one player in this draft look like he has a small chance of one day covering all of that?
We need an alpha dog shooter point guard even more than we needed a big small forward for a few years, and we needed a big small forward badly.
Scoring isn’t an issue. We’ve got guys who can put the ball in the hole.
What we need is 5th/6th year Jrue Holiday: a tough hombre point of attack defender at an All D level, a distributor at a good to great level, and a guy who can shoot and score, but doesn’t need to.
Spurs are 28th in points per 100 possessions. While also being 29th in points given up per 100 possessions. Spurs are a dumpster fire outside Wemby and Devin.
The good news is, the Spurs players suck so bad and their only two good players have enough positional flexibility that the team can truly go BPA and not worry about it.
I honestly think that the spurs had a deal lined up with Orlando last year to take Cason Wallace until presti sniped him. Would explain why they panic drafted Jett Howard with and Hawkins still on the board. He would have honestly been the perfect fit and would have started his development early in the process.
"keep pounding the rock"
Is that graphic from last December?
Here's an updated one. Look at the improvement! Glad scoring is no longer an issue!
