There are a few reasons I could see Becky making the jump. First of all, it’s a jump. No matter how many chips you win in the WNBA, it will never be the same. Second, 1st Female HC is definitely on her brain and she has spoken about it before.

But most importantly, it’s money. She’s making $1mm/year in LV, which is a MASSIVE contract for a coach in that league, but peanuts compared to an NBA Coach Salary.

    Offer LV a $5MM buy-out and Beck a $8mm/year deal and she’d be ours.

They're hiding because the "get Pop's head" squad is roaming the streets.

    I’d say Bud

Becky would be a bold hire as well who had been around the nba long enough that I’m not worried about the female aspect of it much
    Coach Bud
    Kenny Atkinson
    Becky

All three would at least try to win rather than keep developing and seeing what shakes out, win or not.

It's a great question, OP - and the exact reason I haven't (directly) called for his firing. IE I've said things (in passion, admittedly) that he's lost the thread, etc. But who the do we replace him with? I can't think of anyone else, as much as I feel like Pop has done a great job of botching Wemby's first 18 games or whatever it is.

I actually like Doc Rivers. I feel like he's a guy who's very intelligent and would get along with Wemby. He's also won it all before. Whoever it is, resume wise, it will be a step-down from Pop.

It's probably Brett Brown, though. Unless he gets another HC job elsewhere before Pop calls it.

I appreciate Coach Bud's work here in SA, but I'm a please god no on him

Dude shouldve been fired from the Bucks 2 years before it happened. Such blatant mistakes in the playoffs. Even TNT and ESPN were calling out the terrible coaching.

Any coach would have defended Sohan from the ref that called a charge last night. Just was not right. No fire no nothing. We need a change. The custodian would have gotten in the refs face...

Becky's already won a couple chips in Vegas so she's reached the pinnacle of the WNBA, so she'd jump at the chance to be an NBA head coach.
Yep. There is already nothing left for her to do in that league. Might as well come on over.

2 years before he was fired, when you say he should have been fired, he was in a championship parade

I'd take Becky. Monty Williams would be ok. Heck, I wouldn't even mind Steve Kerr. He's got Spur roots, let him come home. Brent Barry and Manu?

all that nonsense. Mike Budenholzer should be the first call. He has actually won something in his career. After Bud, I'd take James Borrego. Becky is never going to be an NBA head coach. Not happening. Because she's a woman? Yep. I'm not saying its right and she's proven she knows how to win. I just don't think the NBA culture would support it and I don't think an NBA owner has the guts to do it.

Bud's last few games with the Bucks were an aberration in my opinion. Dude was going through some horrible personal and probably shouldn't have been coaching.

Can't see Becky leaving the epic gig she has going on over in Vegas.

OTOH to get an NBA job with Wemby, perhaps too good to turn down.
Not sure what the WNBA coaches make, tree fiddy or so, but NBA coaches make bank. Money motivates.

Based on the social awareness in business, yes. She'd be a fine HC. Someone will give her shot. What better way to get back in the good graces of sports media than to hire the 1st female NBA HC?

Maybe you're right. We'll see. Her stock has never been higher.
