Our country is the dumbest in the world
Between that, the brain-rot all over social media, and recent reports about how kids can barely read by grade 4, I'm starting to believe this is true.

I thought you was talkin' about the Lakers in '20. White made Black take that in' RING off the shelf where it was just sittin' there for the takin'. James didn't want to, but the creep took it nonetheless then sent the Black es out the next day to cast White down with the sodomites.

I prefer autocoup, putsch and revolt. It was an attempt to throw out an election the president lost, attempting to suborn the levers of power for the president's reelection, applying direct pressure on canvassers and high officials in swing states, organizing administrative fraud, and stoking mass violence against the US government in the last instance.

Had they succeeded in postponing certification of the electoral count past the 6th, we'd have been in an cons utional pickle. Counting the electoral votes has to happen on Jan.6th following the election. There's no provision for a delay.

I think Trumplandia was counting on Antifa to get out there and fight with the MAGA mob, so Trump could invoke the Insurrection Act. But that didn't happen. Probably because Antifa doesn't give a about Biden or the Democrats.

Was J6 levying war against the US or giving aid and comfort to the enemies of the US? It's arguable. How "war" and "enemies of the US" are defined are key.

For better and for worse, insurrection is the catchall here, I'm not sure the framers anticipated the venality of Trumplandia.

The terms I prefer are not legally defined in the US cons ution, so we go with what we've got.

Fraud against the US in the phony elector scheme, rioting, breaking into a secured government building and obstruction of an official proceeding seem more viable legal strategies to me than prosecution for insurrection or treason, ymmv.

In the colloquial, it all amounts to roughly the same. The 19th century didn't parse legalisms quite like we do.

Secessionists weren't seated in Congress in 1861 and rebels were disqualified from office after the war without any legal process proving insurrection.
