11 million for Paul, i can see why he made this decision.
Maybe teach these guys how to get the ball to their superstar talent instead of freezing him out.
Thought y'all were joking, lol. Better than nothing. He can pass a basketball.
So I assume we are going to trade Tre Jones?
We got CP-3. Now Nic Batun is next. Book it!
So is he here to train Castle? It's going to be so hard to root for this guy.
I like this signing on this young team. Hes going to be a huge part of Wembys development in the pick and roll.
Best development vet in the league.

Essentially a player-coach. Not too bad when thinking about it like this.
already the best playmaker on the roster![]()
What's the cap implication? $11M is right around the MLE but can it be used for a 1 year deal?
The ? Why? He can now be a backup like he should be. We needed more rotation PGs.
So they basically fed this guys ego and told he was gonna “elevate” Wemby.
I hope this guy doesn’t believe that he’s gonna be anything other than player coach starting out of respect but basically a backup.
How old do you think Chris Paul is?
What's our 5 looking like now?
CP3 is definitely starting
Even though I was out on Castle in a big way, it might be of some interest to people that the host of Locked on UConn, while a guest of another Podcast in the draft run up, compared Castle most to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who of course played with Paul, so maybe there's some magic to be made with Castle and Paul.
So in case it hasn't been said yet: The Spurs didn't need cap space to make this happen. This would've fit into the MLE. I have been speculating that the Spurs were trying to get in on a PG-to-GS trade by absorbing Paul's contract. In that scenario they needed every bit of space they could get. But as it is, they seem to have more space that they needed. Almost like they could've used the eighth pick and kept all of their holds...
But, they do still have Graham's full contract on their books, and now the Spurs can use that and other contracts for a trade, or jettison Graham's contract and use the cap space directly. In other words, either the Spurs really did go through all this trouble in hope of paying Chris Paul three times as much as he would get on the open market, or the team has another set a moves they want to make. Personally, I think they need a legit vet wing (or two) on the roster, so trades for Hunter, Barnes etc still have value in my mind.
Paul, Castle, Vassell, Sochan, Wemby
