After Trump lost the election the vaccine suddenly became a political issue in 2021. Trump University zealots listened to the medical advice of right wing media (mainly Fox News) and social media hacks and started taking all kinds of nonsense to cure themselves of Covid lol. The irony is the right wing media machine did such a great job at selling their Covid misinformation campaign that it killed off a lot of their own base and made it easier for Democrats to win elections. Right wingers were winning Darwin awards dying off in much larger numbers and "owning the libs" all the way to their f'n graves.

Yes, I experienced this from the healthcare side of things. The sheer stupidity of it all has been exhausting. I went from, maybe monthly, dealing with an anti-vaxxer mom that was certain vaccines were causing autism to seemingly every other patient being certain that the youtube video they had just watched had more accurate information than the medical professionals. No amount of teaching could sway most of these people, especially after it became political.

I had hopes that with time, clarity would seep in, but as my Uncle once told me when I was young, "there's no cure for stupid." It's not the worst thing to be incorrect, especially in the midst of a crisis, but to double and triple down the way the survivors have..........incomprehensible. At least, as you mentioned, they're mostly victimizing themselves at this point.
