Thanks for the reverse jinks, Debbie.
Mets have been feeling like the team of destiny for a few months now tbh.
Poor Milwaukee. They will never get over the hump. I think battled Dodgers in NLCS in the late 2010s.
Phillies bats need to come out rusty from the layoff. Still not sure Mets have the pitching. In comparison the Philly teams that upset coming out the Wild Card the past 2-seasons I think were a level above in basically all facets
In 2022, the 3rd Place Phillies upset their Division winner in the NLDS. Now the Mets have the chance to do the same, to them.
If there is a baseball God, he needs to karma the always healthy & always rested Phillies.

Machada such an easy out when he is trying to be glory hound.
Zero situational awareness.
Cease with 3-0 lead chokes off an 0-2 count to the leadoff batter.
Veteran Padre lEaDeRs.
Called this yesterday:
Shildt trys pitching to Babe Ohtahni with 2 outs and a base open. Cry me a river that Betts is on deck.
Currently you take Betts over Ohtani 10/10
Boom 3-3
Shildt bout to manage the Padres to a sweep tbh. Dude has zero awareness.
Watching highlights. Jackson error in CF. Damn. Kid shouldn't be in that position.
Impressive win by the Dodgers. They came out do or die. Padres are fine. Win the 2nd game and return home.
Phillies smashing HR the 1st batter of the game and then entertaing that Philadelphia home crowd with 8 consecutive cuck innings... couldn't write it any better way
Always healthy. Always rested.
Mets have the MOJO. Haven't seen this at Shea since Piazza.
Bush league dodgers throwing trash on the field at the Padres
Hopefully Bogaerts isn't lost for the series. His bat has finally started heating up.
I believe Padres are the 1st MLB in history to crank 6HRs on the road in the Postseason
Fuuuuuck, that was a stressful final 6 innings.
Think both NL series go the distance at this point.
!!!
Will you try and attend the NLCS?
"More money will solve our problems"
The bye teams have not won a series in a while.
No rest is better then rust?
There are 2 types of Wild Card teams
A) Too far behind in the Division and even unbothered with seeding. Resting all their arms heading into October.
B) Qualifying for postseason in the final regular season series
Theoretically if you are Team B and run into a Bye team in the World Series then your top starters/relievers likely made 2+ more appearances than your counterpart in a relatively short window of time.
But that's assuming you are facing a Bye team and like your OP stated: that's been rare. The WS stage is when the Wild Card teams seem to run outta steam.
I don't like this new setup. Atleast make the Division Series 7-games so a rusty Bye team can comeback. The longer the series the more rust comes off and stamina becomes a factor.
Mets are gonna dog walk either of these teams tbh.
Da Phillies
Always healthy. Always rested. Always choking.
Couldn't happen to a better collection of sports fans.
I'll have to dive into the stats but something I noticed in the Braves series and it might have become a theme
Padres are feasting on Starters and struggling against the pen. I also would prefer consistent low scoring versus huge 1 inning rallies.
But I still like the Padres to take a monumental Game5. LAD bats probably cool off again.
Manny Fatchada back to trying to pull everything.
Makes for easy outs. Whiffs badly or hits y little grounders.
Unfortunately his *leadership* and immaturity tends to rub off on some other Padres.
Here's hoping Yu Darvish can pull off another beauty. I think it will be required.
Wth is the roof of Tropicana Field made of? Paper mache? Kleenex tissue? Tin foil?
Regardless how bad a storm it is, a professional sports stadium roof should not look like the pieces of a piñata at a kids birthday party.
