Dudes 80, it's impossible to avoid health issues. Its time to retire pop, go hang out in Paris, Italy or Turkey and relax, sure you can stay on as an "advisor", but take it easy.

Hoping for the best for Pop. He certainly seemed robust, fiery and healthy at the Utah game.
I bet he's back by next week.

I always figured he'll retire on his terms, this is probably just a minor setback.

Good to hear but he should have stepped down this summer if that was the case so the team could have hired Budenholzer. Can't load manage your coach.

Pop knows there's more work to be done in Texas the next couple of days than in California.

Good news if true. I personally would be sad the day that Pop retires, and given what he’s done for the franchise I think he’s earned the right to leave whenever he wants to. I sincerely hope he gets to do just that, on his own terms.

There was some buzz last summer that this was his farewell non-tour. He would never announce his retirement in advance, officially. Tim just walked away. Manu finished a season, and during the next training camp did a Nope to the next season. The tour isn’t really a Spurs thing, for the most part. I think DRob announced before his season, but I can’t remember any other major player doing so.

I personally can't schedule periods of incapacitation like this.

I feel pop is important for wemby, pop most likely wont be coaching for that much longer so its a good thing that wemby got to get coaching form pop before he retires.

He's just out there door knocking for Kamala.

On a serious side, my fam got hit by the novovirus in the Austin area last month. Maybe it's a bad virus type thing and he needs to get over it.

Maybe he just had one too many glasses of that expensive wine he has and fell asleep outdoors on the veranda. Who knows it could also just be age catching up with him, either way get well soon Pop.

i know it's hard for ST to not speculate but a "health issue" can be so many thing. yes, it sounds scarier when it's a 75 year old but we're talking about a domain that can include anything from a cardiological event to a kidney stone passing, or a UTI. i just hope it's benign and he's back on his feet in due time. retirement speculation and all that other stuff will always be there because of his age.

Jesus, can we not let this thread turn into a pissing contest about people's personal feelings about Pop?

Just let it go. Only thing that matters now is Pop is okay.

Man, I hope he's alright. I've been upset with his coaching at times, but in no way have I ever wanted him to get sick or anything like that. If he decides to finish coaching at some point, I hope it's because there's tons of other things he wants to do.
