Another let-down deadline for the Spurs. Wright never seems to want to make a deal.
His option hasn't been picked up.

His option hasn't been picked up, he's expiring. Also the Spurs didn't pay cash, they received cash from Bucks. Basically Bucks are paying his salary + some additional cash to the Spurs, in return they save a lot of luxury tax money and probably a top 55 protected 2nd round pick from the Spurs. It's a pretty standard financial trade.
Unless for some weird reason they've been huge fans of him in the draft process a couple of years ago I don't see the Spurs keeping him.
they literally just brought in Fox lol
I guess we waive him or package him in another move
*Nevermind- I'd read the trade wrong and assumed his option had been picked up.**
Seems like a very Spursy move. Help a team in the East, add a 25-26' expiring that could help make a trade for you or get you an asset in a multi-team deal in this complex, double apron CBA world.
Take a flyer on a young, tall, cheap player for 1/2 a season that maybe has some potential, but really they bought a 26' expiring contract.
And , he could just be a top 3/5 shooter with legit size on this team tomorrow, but that's less about him than the roster.
that one went over your head i guess
Makes sense, I saw it or read it as Baldwin for cash. Instead its prolly a fake 2nd going back to Mil.
Did you forget to use the blue sarcasm font?
his nickname is a sandwich PB&J
Yeah, thanks. I read it/heard it wrong from a live stream. Thought we sent cash. Still I'd rather have this guy on the roster than Keldon. Hopefully his expiring + Keldon is flipped for a C in the next 2hrs.
Brian Wrong is an asshole if he fails to trade keldon Johnson for ing anybody
Pretty sure we received the cash.
They could swap him for Capela. KJ will ensure the tank continues on.
Better hurry.
Just doing a favor for another team, in hopes it comes full circle later. I assume we waive him and his salary gets covered by the cash MIL is sending us. No harm, no foul, and we earn points for doing MIL a favor. Solid work by Brian, tbh.
UNLESS... we are going to move Keldon for a C and Baldwin is just a free flier on some SF depth that literally costs us nothing.
Either way, this is the kind of minor, on the fringe deal that helps grease the wheels for Brian down the road. I'm sure the fact that Brian has done SAC several favors as of late played a role in our getting Fox. That's the way to look at this.
PS: Baldwin sucks.

It wasn't all that long ago that some people were predicting he could be a #1 pick in the draft, but he never recovered from a disappointing injury filled freshman season in college.
That's the dude from American Psycho right?
Mike Finger of SAEN says he will be waived before the deadline.
Even I recognize that as sarcasm
This was probably a favor to Milwaukee for Chris Paul getting under Giannis thin skin, call it even I guess
Oh, wow, do they have his draft rights? That would be amazing if they got them as I wanted Spurs to sign either Yabusele or Mathias after the Olympics if either was available. I thought Mathias was under contract, though, and couldn't be signed?
They got his draft rights literally yesterday in a trade with Knicks.
Right now, he is under contract and injured (he broke his leg) but he would be a great option for this summer.
No second round pick for this favor? Must be a precursor to a Bobby Portis trade?
Oh right, well that changes things. If they got his draft rights yesterday, then maybe they wanted them for themselves. I'd still take him next summer, but maybe they asked for his draft rights with the intention of bringing him over next seasin?
