Trumplandia folds on NIH lawsuit by 22 states so it can appeal
https://www.statnews.com/2025/04/04/...nt-injunction/A federal judge on Friday ordered a permanent injunction blocking a Trump administration policy that would slash billions in research overhead payments to universities, academic medical centers, and other grant-receiving ins utions.
Paradoxically, the Trump administration had requested that very verdict earlier in the day, as it needs a final ruling in order to file an appeal.
exempted, but unable to access funds, and hit by RIF and consolidation
https://www.nydailynews.com/2025/04/...s-health-cuts/The federal Head Start outpost in New York City has been shuttered and staff laid off as part of the Trump administration’s recent health department cuts — worrying preschool leaders about the future of child care for families in poverty.
On Tuesday, providers learned that half of the agency’s regional offices were closed effective immediately, including the headquarters in New York. Staff based in lower Manhattan were responsible for oversight and guidance for programs statewide and in New Jersey.
Federal health officials insisted that consolidating the offices will not impact services while saving taxpayers money. But operators fear the loss of support could have a very tangible impact on their programs.
Angela Terry, executive director of the Bedford Stuyvesant Early Childhood Development Center, which enrolls 247 children through Head Start, was scheduled to connect with a regional office staffer on the day of the layoffs — only to find she was unable to join the Zoom meeting. The specialist told her she was affected by the federal government’s reduction in force.
It was not the first time Head Start programs have been caught in the crossfires of federal changes under President Trump. In January, his administration announced a blanket freeze on federal funding. The White House quickly clarified that Head Start was exempt, but programs reported being unable to access fundsand the consequences of much uncertainty.
Harvard declines Trumplandia's offer to remake it in their own image
Princeton bowed up similarly a week or so ago
Rutgers and a bunch of land grant universities are banding together too

The kicker, Winestern, the absolute livin' end? All these years I just took it for granted that Harvard, Princeton, and Rutgers were owned and operated by super rich people endowing the Universities with boundless cash. LMFAO! The whole in' time they've been getting hand downs by the U.S. gov't, ie., us.
me!!!
MIT flips Trumplandia the bird

Re felon dumb Trump taking on the Ivy League schools it's truly a sight to behold.
they're not gonna let some rich asshole from Queens, NY boss them around
(Harvard University is 140 years older than the USA)
both Trump and Vance are Ivy Leaguers.
How bad could they think the schools are?
Obviously, they'd very much like to take the Ivy League over
They want it for themselves
And finally 140 years in we find old Harv has been on the public dole all 140 years.
MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!
...you mean [ourselves] where (it) came from for over 140 years.

Hallelujah!!!
Harvard University may lose its tax-exempt status after refusing the President Donald Trump's wide-ranging demands for changes at the private Ivy League university, CNN and the Washington Post reported on April 16.
According to the Post, the Trump administration asked the IRS to revoke the Cambridge, Massachusetts university's tax-exempt status. CNN reported that the agency is making plans to do so.

All they need to do is say they're a church.
You can't touch them.![]()
True, and they're already crawlin', that Harvard belly? It's a draggin'. Go on, Harv, crawl some more...
Let us proceed...
In 1998, Congress explicitly provided that the President could not, directly or indirectly, request that the IRS start or end an audit or other investigation of a taxpayer. www.taxnotes.com/research/fed... 1/![]()
Why did Congress enact this law? Literally to prevent what Trump is doing here. Like, this is precisely the kind of behavior Congress wanted to prevent. 2/ www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/...![]()
(I'll note that violating this subjects a person to up to a $5,000 fine and/or up to five years in prison.)
Trump's reason to tax them is bull , but Harvard is a hedge fund that on the side offers classes for the silver spoon Jared Cuckners of the world and absolutely deserves to be taxed. As do the rest of the Ivies.
