A few of us here last off-season that watched all of France's Basketball games at the Olympics wanted Yabusele, but not many here were interested.

I'm not bashing anyone. I'm just saying that being overly cautious has its own problems, and over-reliance on a pla ude like "pounding the rock" can be a problem sometimes when being intelligently aggressive is what's needed to take advantage of situations where an impactful player is available. Like you said, no team builds 100% through the draft, so sometimes it's necessary to "strike while the iron's hot" (there you go-- another pla ude!) in order to get things done. If Golden State or Boston insisted on pounding the rock and continuity and skip-no-steps, they wouldn't be in the positions they're currently in. The Fox move was a nice start, but outside of that Wright's history is one of being overly conservative and cautious.
the problem is that for Pop "pounding the rock" means keep trying to put a square peg into a round hole

While this list looks great and logic, I guess this "leak" means, all of them are off the table.

Reid+Adams would be what I'd hope for (while drafting Wings/Guards...hopefully Kon)

I really like the sounds of that. That's exactly what I'd hope for (apart from getting the number 1 pick).
Speaking of Adams, I liked the way he played in game 1 of the Warriors Vs Rockets series. He would be one of my top choices (probably first) as a guy to have out there to help protect Victor from any nonsense from the other teams. Is he a free agent?

I haven't seen many mentions of Yabusele, who will be an unrestricted free agent this summer. He's French, and knows Wemby from their Olympic team. I don't know anything about their specific relationship, but if they're friendly, that could be a factor. He's 6'8", shot 38% from 3 and 61.6% from 2. Not the worst option for depth if he's somewhat inexpensive and Wemby actually wants him here.

I want Yabusele for us, nice fit

I love how people think he is some great discovery. He’s a failed former Celtic FRP who didn’t get his year3 option picked up and was out of the league for 5 years. He’s putting up decent numbers, but on a team, so he may be nothing more than a tank commander.

Giannis is such an interesting player. I have no idea how to view him. On one hand, he is this incredible offensive force that just drops 30 points on like 60% shooting like it’s nothing. And I know that his shots are all at the rim but that’s what makes it more impressive. And he plays really hard on defense as well. The dude pulled down 18 boards.

But on the other hand, it doesn’t translate to winning. And yes I know he’s won a le but after that le the Bucks have been irrelevant and I’m not sure why. I know there were injuries involved. But at the same time there were times when they were fully healthy. A player of Giannis ability should be able to get his team past the first round. But he can’t. Is it bc we are officially past the age of bully ball? Should Giannis be a case study for Wemby to show that maybe he should be taking 10 threes a game? As long as he off sets that with 10 paint touches a game? Maybe Wemby shouldn’t be so focused on the paint like many of us clamor he should be? I honestly don’t know. But it’s really interesting to see what Wembys shot diet should be in this new league going forward.

Santi Aldama Is a restricted FA. I wouldn’t mind a kick on the tires on him especially if it gets Memphis to pay him more.

Seeing how Yabusele worked with Wemby is part of why I think a guy like Queen could work.
Wemby led the team in scoring but the offense actually ran through Yabusele a lot, allowing Wemby to be a deadly off ball threat sometimes.

There's a pretty good difference between "I haven't seen many mentions of Yabusele" and "I've made a great discovery: Guerschon Ybusele!" Nobody here claimed anything like a "great discovery."

Not seeing the connection between Yabu and Queen. Yabu shot 38% from 3 on 4 attempts/gm, whereas Queen was 7 of 35 for the entire season. I'm not a Queen expert by any means, but they seem like completely different players and Wemby's success with Yabu doesn't mean much relative to how he could work with Queen.

With that said... some of the way people have discussed Queen have me interested. Spurs need to just take the best dudes and figure out fit later.

The comp is because they’re both fat— that’s it.
Yabu not only shoots from range but has a great motor. Both things Queen appears to lack.

Here’s an idea. Just sign Yabu…

To be expected. It’s slow until the lotto drawing and the combine/workouts. The mocks really won’t have new info, other than dispatches about the (few this year) international prospects still playing professionally.

Has anybody said they want to trade Castle? If they have it's a minority position.

I definitely don't want to trade him. It's an interesting premise that Chinook brought up, though.

Did the edit button get taken away? I had planned on editing the top post with this, but I can't anymore...

Anyway, here is the Mitch press conference:

Edit: I can edit this post, but not the original post in the thread. I guess someone turned on a time limit to which posts can be edited. There goes the idea of this thread.

I think the original post has either time limited or no edit functions because the edit functions include the delete option, and they don’t want posters nuking threads and taking all of the posts with them.
