I agree. I have no idea what that team is doing at all. I actually thought they looked kinda nasty a while back with Sasbonis and Fox maybe some pieces away from serious contention. But then they target a duo that had a lot of failing data in CHI. Love Keegan Murray and thought Devin Carter was interesting as a draft candidate but don't understand their direction right now and think they made some poor decisions lately. Maybe they have a vision and I need to let them cook but as you said, acting against best logic and interests at first appearance.
But SAC keeping their pick is more about denying ATL assets when we have the 26 swap and 27 FRP we don't want Hawks to draft anything to help them win games. F SAC but F ATL too.
In light of Spurs owning the ATL 26 swap, SA should look to play very seriously for wins next season. Every bit better the Spurs are, enriches the value of the ATL swap by being as far away from it as possible. Would be hilarious to be however deep in the playoffs next year with a lottery pick on the way via ATL to double dip.
