i can't stand the guy. but if it gets pistons fans off, good for them. he's not nearly as annoying as eminem and kid rock waving their little towels on the sideline though.
The squealing eunuch in Miami is the worst. The Grizzlies' announcer comes in second. No matter how (deliberately) annoying the Detroit and San Antonio people are to other teams, they don't overpower whole minutes of the game.

It's hard for me to hate him because I met him once and he's a very sweet man. Overall, I think the arena atmosphere is stuck in a timewarp and could use an overhaul.
I used to live in Orlando and go to the Magic games back when they had Shaq and Penny. Their announcer is still my all time favorite, Paul Porter. I think he's still there but I'll never forget him screaming "Shaaaaquille Oooo Neeeal!"
Case in point: The fact that they've had "Get Ready for This" as their intro music since like 1993.

Given that Detroit is 150 years older than Dallas, and the metro Detroit area is bigger than the DFW metroplex, I'm not sure you have any basis for that opinion. Detroit was called "the D" when I left Michigan in the late '70s, and apparently it's still called the D. So shove it, Texan.
