for sure any team in our group can beat us, but we can beat any team too...
Senegal has some good players, but i think China is not so though
yeah, but you avoid them in direct elimination...

Any idea how the groups were created, I read in Natl Argentinean paper that "were created thru a complex process" (not to say discretional way).
btw,
My candidates are ... USA, ARG, BRA, S&M
Get real. S&M hasn't produced a decent result last 3 years. S&M hasn't even get into Top8 in last Eurochampionship, they are there because of wildcard.
S&M will get better since they hit rock bottom.
Who are representing the USA?
S&M is not even near the bottom. They still have some foors to fall.
Depends what was Bodiroga along with Divac to those players... Maybe you are right, but you cannot get worse then losing on your homecourt in such an early stage.

Group A:

Nigeria
vs
Group C:
Lithuania
Brazil
Greece
Turkey
Australia

-----------------------------------------
Group B:
Spain
Panama
Germany
Japan
New Zealand (?Marks?)
Angola
vs
Group D:
USA
Puerto Rico
Slovenia (Rasho,Udrih)
Italy
China

Media is filled with stupid statements that C and D groups should quickly collide. This is not so.
Slovenia is!

Argentina is a very close second.![]()
I hope Rasho, Beno and Manu are the last ones standing. Then I can just sit back and enjoy.
I would like to see Turkey, New Zealand, and France to do well in that order.
I don't want them to win but I like watching Serbia & Montenegro, Greece, Spain, Germany, and Italy.
Depending on who goes with the U.S. I may or may not root for them at all. If it is a Kobe, Kevin G, Shaq combo forget it!
1/8 final:
C1 vs D4
C2 vs D3
C3 vs D2
C4 vs D1
i would say that is farly quick...
Man, missread the whole picture, havent I?![]()

If Team USA really does get longer-term commitments from a core group of players as I expect, I think that will put them back on top. I was surprised (and somewhat embarrassed) at their performance both pre and in the 2004 Olympics, but I think that the future roster will take the compe ion much more seriously this next time around. Having said that, I think that Team USA will win the World Championships and the Olympics, but it is terrific to see how other national teams have risen.
Its also too bad that Duncan won't play. What a taint on his CV, having had the honor winning a Bronze in 2004 and living in foul trouble. Good God. As a diehard Spurs and Duncan fan, that is tough to swallow. On the one hand I wish he'd give it another go, but for the most part I'm glad he'll rest as enters his thirties and instead focuses on trying to win a couple more NBA championships.
Of course the comparison is not easy, but during the last euro, the greeks win without any NBA players.
International games are not "one on one" based.
In those games its very hard for a player to make the difference all by himself.
If US players don't take the time to learn how to play together... they can loose. If they play as a team (and not as a bunch of stars) no-one can resist.
nz for 4th place again
