It takes a of a lot more skills to get a defensive rotation right in terms of speed, agility, and court awareness than it took the Ewings, Mournings, and Oakleys of the league to just knock a player to the floor.

    Today's NBA > 90s NBA

Take Jordan away from Pippen and you have a Rocket/Trailblazer who didn't do ... Kobe did own him in the WCF, Pippen was forced to go at Kobes hurt ribs.

Anyway.... isn't Pippen coaching or advising Odom in LA???

i wouldn't say it takes a lot more skills, the game has just progressed, defenses have adapted to the rules changes to promote more scoring. the bulls were also a good defensive team that did not rely on brute force. i don't think you could say there are 2 better perimeter defenders out there that are better than mj and pip were.

that's a re ed take. kobe owned him but he was a lot older and had lost a lot of quickness, so what? pip did suck in portland and houston but he was pretty crusty at that point.

A lot of people mention Bruce Bowen as a candidate, but he's not a defensive player and he's never been a defensive player. He's got a seven-footer behind him who can block shots. What's his defense? Run you at the seven-footer? You put a seven-footer like Tim Duncan behind me, who's gonna get defensive player of the year, me or Tim Duncan? The deal with Bowen is he's 6-7 and there's not many people who can shoot over a 6-7 person. He never received the Defensive Player of the Year Award when he played in Miami, did he?
But then, he was named All-NBA Defensive 2nd team with Brian Grant.

What? Pip suddenly got crusty ONE year after the Bulls second three-peat? Because that was when he landed in HOU, and he sucked dog balls there.

Pippen = Robin. He was totally at a loss when he didn't have MJ's jock to sniff to remind him what a real hoops player is. I remember his annual skipped playoff games against Detroit's Bad Boys with a headache. What a woman's excuse! At least throw down some smack about having the clap or something. A headache?

Pippen and Jordan probably wouldn't have had any championships if the NBA hadn't changed the rules keeping Rick Mahorn and Dennis Rodman from knocking them on their asses when they went to the hoop.

Pippen did absolutely nothing without Jordan. Kobe's got no one around him, and is scoring 81 points.

League scoring is down...so where is all this offense? Wilt Scored his 100 points in the 60's. Most of the top 10 scorers were pre-90's. Pippens a fool.

And, just for the record...Pippen has always hated the Spurs. Will never give someone like Bowen or Parker credit. If they were blowing whistles, Parker would be going to the line a LOT more often.

    Did I mention Pippen's a fool?

Tho, a very rich, 6 championships fool

What do Timvp, Kori, CD, and Tpark have to say about the comment of Tony taking advantage of the rules?
