    If anyone would be interested in discussing it, I'd be all about changing the offensive categories to eliminate AVG and include either OBP or SLG. Batting average is a crappy indicator of a player's value; if we're just worried about how often he gets on base, then let's do OBP instead, so that guys like Bonds will have their full value reflected in the league standings.

    Again, are we sold on using Batting Average as a category. I'd argue strongly that OBP, SLG, or OPS would be much better.

    I don't know I have always played with AVG.

    I don't know I have always played with AVG.
    I've never played with AVG. OBP is a much better metric for measuring the quality of an offensive player -- besides, OBP includes batting average, but reflects players who are most dangerous because they are on base regularly.
