I was wondering if anybody else had noticed the Manu/Balky resemblance.
I'm disappointed. Of all the Rasheed Wallace pictures, and no one has posted my favorite:
It's one of those pictures that can capture a person's personality. If you don't like Rasheed Wallace, he looks like an idiot. If you like him, you see his passion. You see that he's the biggest kid in the game and he gets more joy out of just playing and talking trash.
I'm pretty sure you know where I fall. I liked Rasheed before he was a Piston, but I wished he would just shut his mouth and play. It could be the homer talking, forgiving other sins because of the allegiance to name on the front of his jersey. But I don't think so. I think there are players in this league that are more complicated than when you see them play 3-5 games a season nationally. I'm certain Rasheed Wallace is one of those players. He reminds me so much of Bill Laimbeer, in terms of personality and approach to the game, it's scary.
Oh, and his reputation, too. The difference is, this time, the players aren't the ones who hate Rasheed, it's the media. He can't stand them, and he either won't give the papers the quote, or he'll site off rhetorical nonsense in his interviews. He sees it as a distraction to the game. But guess who shapes the fans' opinions of the players? And that's why he's so hated.
