Bill OReilly Losing Audience, Keith Olbermann Makes Gains

O'Reilly takes himself seriously.

And that is why Stephen Colbert has a career. He satirizes news personnel who take what they do - commenting on the news - way too seriously. Bill O'Reilly, Joe Scarborough, that obnoxious lawyer on MSNBC, Neil Cavuto, they all have the same format for their show, and a supreme arrogance that they can influence the masses, or they have a pulse on what the masses are thinking.

I love watching Bill Maher, Jon Stewart, and Keith Olbermann. But I don't rely on them for hard news (if on television - Jim Leher, Charlie Rose, etc), and have a heavy distain for those that do. Find out what the story is before you hear some jokes or commentary on it.

Bill O'Reilly's head of security called me 'cause I mentioned Olberman saying that I made a harassing phone call to O'Reilly today. I called to Bill O'Reilly today to talk to him about Alito, but mentioned that I like Keith Olberman. As soon as I mentioned Keith's name, O'Reilly hung up on me.

I just got a call on the phone I used to call him from the head of Fox News security. He said that harassing phone calls were coming from my phone. I asked him how many? He did not know. I asked him what was said that was harassing? He said that he did not know but that it did not have to be what was said, but how many calls were being made. He tried to make like I made 20 phone calls instead of one, and that I cursed O'Reilly out. All I said was that I was grateful to O'Reilly for turning me on to Olberman. Then he hung up.
