Clips played much better D than the Spurs, last night.
If the Spurs had played smash-mouth, shut-down D since Nov 1, maybe they would be tired, but they haven't. And they just had a week off for ASB.

The Spurs overlooked the Clippers. Old habits are hard to break.
I think you will find that most of the better teams suffer their worse games on b2bs, especially on the road. So it doesn't surprise me that this is where the Spurs have suffered the most.
As to HCA, I wonder sometimes exactly how much impact it has in the finals with the 2-3-2 format. You win first two at home, lose the next 3 on the road, and suddenly you are faced with two must win games back in your arena. That kind of pressure could certainly throw your HCA out the window.

Spurs can steal back Pistons' Finals HCA by splitting the first 2 @DET, then winning 2 - 1 @SA, to go back to DET up 3-2 for the last 2 games, needing only 1 to win.

Maybe the Spurs' frontline isn't all it's cracked up to be. Would we feel so uncertain about the Spurs' chances in a 7 game series against Detroit if the center spot wasn't so iffy?
No back to backs in the Playoffs = No worries.
I wouldn't count against the NBA scheduling a back to back in order to get both games in prime TV spots, or in the Spurs' case, to allow someone else to get prime TV spots.
