I haven't seen Marks play much lately.
(I don't get Fox Sports Southwest on dish)
With the Spurs current roster of 13 players, who should get that 12th spot, Marks or Oberto?
I say SA signs TMass and gives him the 13th spot.![]()

You mean Varejao?![]()
Oberto, when given the time, has been pretty decent the last couple months. He started off the season pretty bad, but he's started to figure out how to rebound at this level.
Come playoff time, I think they'll be a time when Oberto becomes a valuable player. Offensively, I trust him on the court before Nazr or Rasho.
Just say Sideshow Bob. We'll know what you're talking about.
so true!
on Oberto: For a 5th bigman he's pretty good. I never thought he will challenge for starting 5, because of his limited offensive game.
Oberto's rep was built on his play in the Olympics, when he supposedly shut down any number of top US bigs. Too bad they don't use NBA rules in international ball or vice-versa, I suppose.
Another European "veteran", sop re Beno looks a lot better this year than last.
I expect rookie Fabricio, forget about his 30 years, is struggling like any foreign NBA rookie, adjusting to a new country and to an apparently complex Spurs system.
I don't know. Nazr has impressed me recently with his 10-15 foot jumper.
Pop said on The Pop Show today that the scuttlebutt is that the Playoffs will be just like the regular season. Each night you can suit up any 12 players. He said it wasn't for sure though.
Sweet. He should grab KG and Dwight Howard before anyone else thinks of it.
like softball ringers
I bet Marks makes the playoff roster over Oberto, not because Oberto's not talented, but because he's a rookie so he'll be worse in the playoffs, whereas Marks will be more steady coming in off the bench.
Unless Van Exel doesn't make the playoff cut because of injury, and then they both make it.
Marks should get the nod. In addition to his offense, his length could be used to guard big scores like Dirk.
If Pop is right, then teams will be able to change the inactive player game to game. I think Pop might be right because there have been teams that sustained injuries during the playoffs when they had perfectly healthy players on the inactive list that they couldn't use. This would be fantastic. Pop can decide by game who will be in and who will be inactive. It is also great because KIWI (Marks) probably wouldn't have made the active list. (I say this because Oberto rarely, if ever, has been placed on the inactive list and Marks is usually there).
As for Obby's play, more playing time would help to evaluate his effectiveness. He can't control that. I think he can be valuable to us though because he does hustle on the offensive end and with our rebounding problem, he can make a difference.
Dun be raggin on my man Oboito now. Sheeez, just watch 2 to 3 years in da L and he be funking the out of da rest.
Fa Sho Wit It Cuz.
I'm just trying to copy the dialect used on some of the MySpaces I have seen and want to test it on mature forums to see how it works out.![]()
E20, okay by me but I couldn't understand your last sentence on post #44. Maybe I'm too old for this forum? Oh well.
This:
translates into: Don't make fun of Oberto. Just watch in 2 to 3 years in the leauge he will develop and make a good player.Dun be raggin on my man Oboito now. Sheeez, just watch 2 to 3 years in da L and he be funking the out of da rest.
I still don't know what 'Fa Sho Wit it Cuz' means.
Over Nazr/Rasho?
Na, man. Over Marks maybe. Rasho/Nazr have played big minutes for us.
Agreed.
It's ugly as , but it goes in.
You're too funny.
