Good signing. Although this is a DUI waiting to happen.
How can you complain about getting this guy? He is a very good kicker. Anyone is better than Cortez.
I guess I would have preferred Vinatieri, but Vandy is solid, no one on here can argue that. No kicker is ever going to make every kick out there but he will make the majority of them.
It would be nice if he weren't kind of a jerk, but , I really can't complain. This is definitely a big upgrade and potentially the best kicker in Dallas history.
I remember 3 kicks specifically. The one against the Dolphins in the Playoffs to go to the AFC Championship game. The kick was from about 35 yards or so and he had only missed 1 or 2 kicks all year. Of course, he choked that one and cost the Colts a chance at the superbowl. Then I remember 2 years later when Tampa was king of the hill and Indy played them in a big Monday Night Game. 24yarder to break some kinda record and again he bangs it on the cross bar in one of the all time ugliest kicks. Then again last year for a chance at the superbowl, I knew before he kicked it he didn't have a chance and boy he didn't even come close.
Just my thoughts. I would have preferred Todd Peterson or Josh Brown of Seattle. My dream would have been Vinatierri.
My standard of clutchness is apparently different than those bogus stats above.
I would've preferred Vinateri, but that apparently was not an option.
The way to look at it is that Vanderjagt is lightyears ahead of what they had last season. He will make a ton of routine kicks over the course of a season that the Cowboys' kickers last season made an adventure.
I would've preferred Vinatieri (or Josh Brown).
My only concern with Vandy is on kickoffs.
Vandy wanted to kickoff, but evidently it was just a pissing match between him and Polian. He'll be fine on kickoffs.
I didn't know that...I just thought he was ty.
Vanderjagt didn't miss that kick, Peyton is just cursed!!!!!
Yeeehaw!!!!! Go Cowboys!!!!!
