I'm sure if the spanish only people could read this they would vote against it.
It doesn't really curtail anything. But in this country, where freedom is considered a natural right, free expression is only limited in cases where it needs to be. For instance, an obvious choice is cases of public safety, you cannot yell 'fire' in a crowded theatre. Why? Because to do so would cause public panic, and hurt the majority of individuals as they flee for their lives.
Name me a majority advantage to having English as the national language? This country has survived for over 200 years without a national language. Where is the NEED for it?

I thought "Benjamins" was the official language of the US.
People should be taught more than one language.
