Because Bruce Bowen is allowed to foul 500 times a game and no one ever calls it, Tim Duncan gets so many calls it's ridiculous, the refs hate Rasheed, and because the league will rig it for the Spurs since Tony Parker is dating Eva Longoria.
    You forgot about manu's flopping!

If you wish to look solely at the regular season, then turnabout is fair play...the Pistons also lost twice during the regular season to the Nets. The Nets are on a roll at the right time. What makes Pistons fans think they can get past the Nets?

Man, I really think homecourt is only major difference!!Last year we had it, this year we wont.. But, hopefully both will make it to the champioship and anything can happen.

Some of you guys prolly know me and know that im a pistons fan. I dont post here too much, but i post from time to time. Im here to ask you guys why do you think the spurs will win it this year? Looking at the pistons and spurs from an outside view, everything points to the pistons winning it. Now no trash talking, just say why u think the spurs will win it. Remember the pistons are up 2-0 in the season series and won both games pretty easily.

As for me i think the pistons will win it because we beat u guys twice, we got an offensive minded coach, we can turn the defense on any time we want to, and the way the pistons have been playing all year.
    laughable

I actually think the frontcourt situation is pretty much a wash, mainly because of Ben's iffy scoring. Seems like Mohammed's been looking pretty good lately. Factor in the backups - Horry & Rasho v. Dice and maybe Davis, and I wouldn't claim the Pistons have an edge up front.

I would give a slight edge to the Pistons guards, but _real_ slight, banking on Billups' strength and Rip's speed over the quickness of Parker & Ginobili Could go either way in a series, though, and in a single game, one or two bad calls or bad no-calls could tip the balance either way.

Wildcards to me are Tayshaun and the bench. Figuring Bowen will spend a lot of time on Rip or Chauncey, Tayshaun's got to light it up; if he lets Parker or Ginobili keep him under control, we're in trouble. As for the bench, I'm a lot less concerned about ours now than I was earlier, but except for Lindsey, we don't know how they'll perform in the crunch. If Delk and Delfino play like they're capable of, that'll be huge.

(PS - the 2 regular season games don't mean diddly-jack-fugall.)

    1) Tim Duncan

    2) Pop>>>Flip Saunders

    3) Our bench: Finley, Horry, Barry, NVE if they get their perimeter game going in any game, Pistons are doomed

    4) Poor Pistons defense...Pistons may be able to "turn on" their defense whenever they want, but Spurs know how to play it for 48 minutes and for longer stretches. Pistons defense this season is noticibly worse. They let the freakin Sixers shoot 50%+ for 3 quarters the other night!

I think 1 and 2 are the most important though.

IMO the Spurs have the better bench.

I keep seeing this over on the Pistons board.. We beat em twice.. No sweat.

Well, remember that was a few months ago.

Don't ask me why, but the Spurs didn't even seem all that interested in playing either of those games. Now the one on Christmas I can understand, but the other one, it just looked like they decided to mail in a game.

The Spurs you will see in the playoffs will not be that same team. Count on it.

It would not surprise me at all to see it come down to the last game again.

But then again, what if the Heat takes it to 7 again, and those guys are worn out for the first couple of games.

What if the injury free factor catches up with the Pistons.

I'm not saying they can't win it. I'm saying they are going to have to come get it though.

One of the games was a stink fest, both teams sucked terribly on offense...

It was the game that Manu didn't play in.

Manu will have to dominate his matchup against Tayshaun again, and TP will have to man-up on D against either Rip or Chauncey. You figure Bowen will guard whichever is hotter, but Parker's gonna have to take the other one. Hopefully he can wear them down on the other end of the floor.

Also, we'll have to shoot well from 3. That's one advantage we have. More guys who can hit 'em....

And Nazr will have to score as many as Ben...

The Spurs are much better than they were in December and January. Aside from the fact that Manu is better and Tim's figuring out how to play around his injury, Parker's got his mid-range jumper going; Finley's more consistent; Barry's playing the best that he's ever played for the Spurs; Horry's getting in playoff mode; Nazr finally truly solid; and we've got a true inside/outside game going. And, we still have a stellar defense. The Pistons are basically the same team from last year. I don't think home court will matter. It won't go seven.

    Reasons?

Spurs have the deeper bench, the coaching edge and the best championship player in the game - TD.
