It's not near as good as it was last year.

Last year it was an 8, sometimes 9, and it was easy to make a serious argument for him to be on the All-Defensive team. He was expending tremendous energy on defense. People forget that in Game 5, he was the one who made the great stop on Rip on the last play.

This year, for whatever reason, it's ~6. Most likely because he got so much of the offensive burden to bear that he doesn't have the time.

Tony was a very good defender for a while last season when he was putting out a lot of effort on that end. Seeing as he's had to carry the team offensively for a lot of this season, his defensive efforts have been lacking a little this year.

That being said, he's quick enough to stay in front of a lot of players. And he's never going to be strong enough to do the things that Billups does. So if I'm rating him compared to how good I think he can be, he's about a 7.5 or 8 (last season he was a 9 for a while). If I'm rating him compard to other PG's, including the ones much stronger than him, he's about a 6.
I already said that. Just because you're the mod doesn't give you the right to plagerize.

WHAT? As a product of the Spurs' defense university and a small cog in their defensive machine, I would say exactly the opposite. As compared to other Spurs, I'd say Tony's defense is about a 5 because he doesn't have to defend that much (thanks to his teammates). On any other team, like _allas, which isn't playing any detectable defense right this minute (although they did show some promising "signs" earlier in the season, it has evaporated, given up the ghost), Tony would be at least a 7 or an 8.
Dont act like thats huge or anything. 5 isnt that far off from any other predictions, and they counting the fact that he plays on the Spurs.

He is a 4 or 5. Even Deron Williams had an easy time with TP. He is no better than a Steve Nash.

Last night was one of those few nights that parker's play actually hurt us. He played no defense and walked the ball up the court about 75% of the time. He looked and played tired. I'm ok with the fatigue factor but Pop needs sit these dudes down when they play so energy-less including Duncan.
