Dear Dad,

Camp is wonderful. I am having a lot of fun. The camp director is teaching me a lot (did you know there was "defense"?). There's lots of cool stuff to do. The other guys like me and think I'm great, I get to play in their games a lot. The people here like me, too. They say we will get "rings" at the end of camp. I sure hope so, because I've never seen one. I hope you're proud of me. Thanks again for sending me here, I know it cost you a bundle.

Finley is one of the biggest reasons why I DONT want the Spurs to win a le. hes a complete traitor. he could have gone to Miami, Phoenix, or Detroit... all le contending teams. But no, he had to go to the biggest rival of all. I want him to leave the game with a ring, but not before the Mavs get one, just because hes a total traitor.

and too bad for you guys, because hes going to bring you all down in the playoffs. he did that WAY too many times with us, with his horrendously inconsistent shooting, and lack of clutch playoff shooting.

i don't think finley could have stayed, cuban was looking to cut salary and finley was the choice. he could have gone somewhere else, yes. but he was going to get cut, he was making a LOT of money and they thought he was expendable - which was understandable, given they had howard and daniels who essentially play the same position.

Finley coming off the bench here was never an option. He wouldn't go for that. He'd have been starting, which would've taken minutes from Daniels. Daniels may not be an outside shooting threat, but I like his all-around game better than Finley at this point in Finley's career.

and KVH was Dirk's backup anyway...
