but before i beat the out of my pillow to get rid of the days frustrations.
not really
when i was in college i got into a habit of staying up all night and sleeping all day. it slowly happened over the course of a couple of months. no matter what i did, i couldnt sleep til about 4 am
then when my job started three shifts and i went to the 11pm to 8 am shift i would sometimes stay up for over 24 hrs bc i couldnt sleep no matter what. thats when i found the tylenolpm/beer mix works real well
but before i beat the out of my pillow to get rid of the days frustrations.

I just noticed the time of when you posted this^![]()
Obviously I would EVENTUALLY fall asleep. That's usually what happens. But the longer I lay there, the more frustrated I get, the more awake I become.
So sorry for "crying out for attention" by asking for help.![]()
Adrienne, sorry you got a lot of smart ass answers in this thread.
Try to drink warm milk and then read something that's very boring to you. Back in the day, I used to have trouble falling asleep and I found that reading something boring was always the best bet.
^See, I've tried that. But reading something boring just made my mind wander and I could never concentrate long enough for it to bore me to sleep.
That's why I have a nightly ritual where I always try to read a book I like on my table.
But the Tylenol PM stuff works wonders too. Although, you feel very groggy in the morning.
I hope you were able to finally get some sleep last night. If you have problems like this in the future, one of the worst things you can do is get on the computer. When my sleep doctor told me that it was like she was stabbing me. WTH am I supposed to do then? She said the best thing was a book, but not a scary or exciting one. LOL, I don't own any of those! Keep the lights really low in the house, keep the air cool. Keep a pad of paper and pen by your bed to write things down as they pop in your head so that you don't dwell on them. White noise helps some people, the sound of thunderstorms calms me down. Maybe you could try one of those CDs. Ceiling fans, humidifiers work for others. I've heard warm milk, but that never worked for me. Hope that helps!
In all seriousness, my method for getting to sleep might resemble a smart-ass answer but it's better than anything else I've tried...
I'll give you a hint. Late Night Cable.
Try more light exercise like walking trail. If your job is sedentary you will need to supplement exercise to help the body WANT to pass out.

yeah thats they way we play around with him.
well maybe the reason you can't sleep is bcuz you're too stressed out on certain things. You should probably talk to somebody about what's stressing you out. I have an online diary that works wonders, it helps keep the stress off me, in fact when I was stressed I would cut, and as a result of cutting I would lay in bed feeling guilty. But now that I have a place to vent it helps me not cut which helps me sleep better knowing that I didn't harm myself that day. Maybe you need to vent so the crap in your life doesn't end up occupying your time to sleep. Hope that helps!
