    Best Acoustic Guitar ever?

    Here's my vote.

    Sounds intriguing. Love DiMeola...

I'll have to agree with the concencous that any song off Clapton's, Nirvana's or Alice in Chain's "Unplugged" albums are about as good as you get.

Not exactly acoustic, but Alice in Chains "Jar of Flies" album is as good as an LP as there is.

"Whimsical" by Days of the New...
    "Atlantic City" by Bruce Springsteen...
    "Hurt" by Johnny Cash...

    Great songs.

With all due respect [/Tony Soprano], I cannot stand Eric Clapton.

Dude is a sacred cow, through and through.

    That's just my opinion.

    Alice In Chains unplugged

if you could wear out a CD, Ive done that one.

    Clapton unplugged is genius.

any acoustic performance by Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, or Clint Black.

    "Atlantic City" by Bruce Springsteen.
Nebraska is a really strong album. I really like "demo" albums like that. PJ Harvey's demo album blows away the actual studio disc, for example.

As for my favorite, I'll just cheat and say I'll put in Coltrane or some classic Blue Note le - but I guess I'd have to exclude anything with guitar, vibes or a Hammond.

Ok, I won't cheat and say "Unfaithful Servant" by the Band. I don't consider the electric bass on it cheating since most of the other examples had plugged basses, even if they looked acoustic. "Rocking Chair" from the same album is good too.

If you juat want to hear someone play an acoustic guitar in ways you never thought possible, just pick up the some Leo Kottke and skip over the vocal selections.

It's my favorite Springsteen Album, first song to last, but oddly enough is one of the few that I don't own on vinyl.

    "Greetings..." is prolly 1b.

And TPark... I know what you're talking about in reguards to AIC "Unplugged". Own every disc, but that is still my favorite.

"Down in a hole" is otherworldly.

My cousin, who first turned me on to the Seattle movement, gave me the taped recording of the show. Said he found it and thought I should have it.

A few years back I let a friend barrow it. Big mistake. Idiot taped over it.

    Let's just say it's something I haven't gotten over.

I downlaoded about half of this one in Napster's hayday... never could find the end of it, but the first two ans a half minutes of it just kicked my ass:

STP's acoustic cover of Pour Some Sugar on Me.

Let's hear em, I need some good suggestions.
Not the best, but it's a damn good one:

    Vic Ruggiero, "International War Criminal"

Don't listen to it if you're a Republican.

Also, while not entirely acoustic guitar, this is the best:

    The Slackers, "Come Back Baby"

Travis' acoustic version of "Hit Me Baby One More Time" actually makes a Britney song worth listening to, and that's impressive.
Well personally I think it's a good song over all anyway even without Britney Spears and the poppyness of it.
