46-55 from the FT line for _allas, and they scored 111.
Mother ing pathetic.
Ed Malloy, Ken Mauer, and Tim Donaghy should be shot.

That must've been some horrible officiating.
Brings back memories of Dallas @ SA in game 1 of the WCF when they had 50 FTA (and made 49 of them).![]()
Well, Humphries DID hack Dirk hard across the forearm a good 2 steps after the foul was called. The foul was on the floor, not a shooting foul...Dirk went ahead and continued on to try to lay the ball in like people do all the time (ie, taking a free shot after a foul just for the of it). Dirk didn't like it, so he followed him up the court and let him know about it. When Humphries turned around and acknowledged him face to face, Dirk gave him a little push and they both got T'd up. Do YOU know what Humphries said? I don't. So it's hard to say if it should've been a double T or not isn't it??
Mark Followill is the man...Ortegal is a bit of a whip...
The local announcers were propping up their guy, who is a legit MVP candidate??? No way...![]()
The Jazz got called for 7 more fouls than the Mavs (Jazz got 37 FT's). Is that way out of line considering how the Jazz were hacking last night???!!! The Mavs obviously got more shooting fouls which gave them 18 more FT's from only a 7 PF difference. I didn't know that a big difference in FT's means the ref's are playing favorites...![]()
92 total fts in a game it totally ridiculous. and yes, an 18 ft difference is a lot.
WHO CARES ABOUT THE FT DIFFERENCE!! Not every foul results in FT's...some 1...some 2...some 3. Some teams are smarter about how they use their fouls...and how they spread them somewhat evenly throughout the game (keep from having a quarter where they're in the bonus early). Some teams drive to the basket more. Lots of variables involved between # of fouls and # of FT's. I don't understand why people look at the foul shot totals and assume that one team got jobbed?!! Isn't it possible for a game to be called correctly, but one team fouled a bunch and the other didn't??
A 7 FOUL difference in a game where the Jazz were hacking like crazy is not that out of line...
The 55 attempts are not zebra magic; it was Sloan's strategy although he didn't expect it to be that much. What I don't get it is why would you foul and foul Dallas? Okay, fouling Diop and some of our average free throw shooters makes some sense but Dirk? This is probably one of the most surreal and nonsensical tactics I've ever seen and it's coming from Sloan of all people.
There were some major hacks from Utah. No way the refs don't call those fouls. Humpries was sneaky by ripping Dirk's arm after the foul and trying to get away with it by looking away.
again, 92 ft attempts by 2 teams in a game is ridiculous. i didn't see or listen to the game, but it sounds silly. wack strat by sloan.
It was a frustrating game to watch. Everytime we were on offense, a foul was called and it was justified. Dallas was the more aggressive team. But it doesn't surprise me because it's the Utah Jazz.
If Sloan uses that strategy tonite, it will probably work.
Exactly...it was a cheap hack and a good way to screw up somebody's shoulder (ie, Dirk against the Jazz a few years ago)...
A hack-fest is a hack-fest...gotta call the fouls...
