Yeah, I hadn't heard Pau was injured. Mavs will win in 5 without Pau. Damn.

Spurs will win in 5. Maybe 4.
    Detroit will win in 4.
Miami will win in 6 or 7.
Lakers will beat the Suns in 7.
Clippers will beat the Nuggets in 7.
Cleveland will win in 5 or 6.
New Jersey will win in 7, and it will be a close game. Indiana could upset.

By definition, you fill out your bracket before the postseason starts. Feel free to eat me alive (especially when you see the NBA Finals).

    First round:

    (1) Detroit - 4 (4)
    (8) Milwaukee - 0 (1)

    (2) Miami - 4 (4)
    (7) Chicago - 1 (2)

    (3) New Jersey - 4 (4)
    (6) Indiana - 3 (2)

    (4) Washington - 2 (2)
    (5) Cleveland - 4 (4)

    (1) San Antonio - 4 (4)
    (8) Sacramento - 1 (2)

    (2) Phoenix - 2 (4)
    (7) LA Lakers - 4(3)

    (3) Denver - 3 (1)
    (6) LA Clippers - 4 (4)

    (4) Dallas - 4 (4)
    (5) Memphis - 2 (0)

    Second Round:

    (1)Detroit - 4
    (4) Cleveland - 1

    (2) Heat - 4
    (3) Nets - 3

    (1) San Antonio - 4
    (4) Dallas - 3

    (3) EDIT: Phoenix - 2
    (6) LA Clippers - 4

    Third Round

    (1) Detroit - 4
    (2) Miami - 2

    (1) San Antonio - 4
    (6) LA Clippers - 0

    NBA Finals:

    (1) Detroit - 4
    (1) San Antonio - 2

The hardest series to call? LA v. LA. I went back and forth 3 or 4 times. Nobady has homecourt advantage. The Lakers can't guard Brand, the Clippers can't guard Kobe. Both are very experienced coaches, both have savvy veterans. I honestly don't know who would win that series, but I couldn't sit on the fence. So I went with the better overall talent, Chris Kaman and Sam Cassell being the difference in the series.

I'll bet you $5 the Bulls win 2 games or more.
I'll be you 50v dollars they will be lucky to win one. The Bulls are scrappy, but they have no one to guard Shaq, Alonzo, or Udonis Haslem. Gordon will go unconscious for one game and they will squeak out a win. But the Heat saw a team just like this last season (Washington) and swept them in 4 games.

The lower bracket is wide open.
Spurs could see the Lakers in WCF.

Or the Suns or the Clippers or the Nuggets. That's where the suspense will be this season - the team playing to lose to the Spurs in the Conference Finals. I've been saying that since Amare went down - the West is just as shallow as the East in terms of contenders. Where they make up the difference is in average teams like the Nuggets and Grizzlies.

I don't think the Nuggs and Clips are tough enough to get thru the first 2 rounds.

It'll be Suns' offense or Lakers due to Phil and Kobe.

The parity in the lower bracket will make all the games compelling viewing.

come on, the Nuggets arent an average team.........their whole season has been marred by injuries , just look at the ESPN injury list heading into the playoffs compared with that of the clippers

    INJURY REPORT
Den Greg Buckner - SG - Apr 20
Buckner (bruised knee) did not play in Denver's season finale against Seattle on Wednesday night.

    Kenyon Martin - PF - Apr 20
Martin did not play in Denver's finale against Seattle on Wednesday in order to rest his aching knee.

    Marcus Camby - C - Apr 20
Camby did not play against Seattle in the season finale on Wednesday but the DNP was strictly for rest.

    Eduardo Najera - F - Apr 20
Najera (foot) played nine minutes and scored five points during Denver's loss to Seattle on Wednesday night.

    Earl Boykins - PG - Apr 20
Boykins (hand) said he expected to be close to 100% when the Nuggets face off against the Clippers in Game 1 of their 1st round playoff series on Saturday the Rocky Mountain News reports.

    Julius Hodge - G - Apr 10
Hodge was released from the hospital on Sunday just two days after getting shot three times in his legs the Denver Post reports.

    Nene Hilario - FC - Mar 7
Despite reports he could return by season's end Nene (knee) said he will not play this year even if the Nuggets make a deep playoff run the Rocky Mountain News reports.

    LAC

    No significant injuries

all the Nuggets players mentioned above have all had significant injuries this season and many are still recovering

the record is not great by any means but i think the Nuggets should still be happy with the outcome, considering no other teams (except rockets and bobcats) have dealt with injuries to so many key players and role players

    Starting with the first round.

    Mine -

Spurs over Kings in 6: will be a very tough series, Kings matchup well with Spurs all over the floor and are 27-14 with Artest. Duncan and Ginobili still hobbling, but we have aces up our sleeve off the bench that they don't.

Clippers over Denver in 5: Clips have hca, better players all over the floor and will dominate the post. They are a dark horse for the WCFs.

Dallas over Memphis in 6: the Grizz are coming in hot, but Dallas is too deep. Watch Josh Howard dominate in the stretches Dirk doesn't.

Suns over Lakers in 6: only because Phil Jackson is a playoff genius, and Kobe will win 2 by himself. The Lakers have no-one else of quality besides Odum. The Suns go 8 deep... oh, and Nash is a genius.

Detroit over Milwaukee in 5: Redd will steal 1 on the buzzer, but Detroit have it all over the court.

Miami over Chicago in 7: Bulls are peaking at right time, but I hear Wade is hurt. This will be a -fight, but the Heat should have the power in the post to get it done.

Washington over Cleveland in 7: I don't trust James' ankle, and Arenas is ON A MISSION! Will be a fantastic, nail-biting series.

New Jersey over Indiana in 4: time for Indy to clean out the clubhouse now that Jersey are playing D, and the Big 3 are firing on all cylinders. Will they ever catch a break?

Bring it on people - predictions and reasoning.

Spurs in 4. They were the best team last year and despite the injury to Duncan, they are still top two in the league. That is all that needs to be said. No disrespect to the Kings.

Clippers in 5. I listened to an interview of the Nugget head coach and he jsut didn't seem like a great coach. Elton Brand has slimmed down and I think he is clearly better then Melo.

Mavs in 4. MAvs are now playing defense, Dirk has improved, they have a deeper team, and the Grizzlies haven't won a playoff game.

Lakers in 7 Im a homer!

Pistons in 4. Top 2 team in the league vs. a disgrace. Common knowledge here..

Heat in 6. Shaq vs. the Heat front court

Wizards in 7. Wiz have more playoff experience and Arenas is an absolute FREAK when it comes to work ethic.

Nets in 5. Experienced team that is much improved from last year vs. a team that is quickly falling into the gutter and lost intensity with the loss fo artest.

The results will back me up soon enough.

But in the meantime, here's the reasoning you've requested.

Spurs in 4 because they're the better team.

Clips in 6 because they're the better team.

Mavs in 5 because they're the better team.

Lakers in 7 because they're the better team.

Pistons in 4 because they're the better team.

Heat in 5 because they're the better team.

Cavs in 7 because they're the better team.

Nets in 5 because they're the better team.

    Satisfied?
