Lucky you Slomo. Now I have a goal; next year i have to see at least 1 Spurs play-off game, live. Chances are 8%, i guess . And I am from Slovenia too.

However, have a nice time and BE LOUD.

I arrive in San Antonio on May 2nd so if, by chance, there will be a dinner around Game 5, let me know.
How long are you in town this time?

Great restaurant! It's one of my favorite places to eat. I recommend the duck & chorizo chalupas, crab tinga tacos or the cochinita pibil. Unfortunately i'm gastrointestinally challenged right now so please eat well. The corn tortillas kick ass there. Food for Mayan gods.

I've always thought that if Austin Powers were Mexican then Acenar is kind of what his shag pad would look like.

    ENJOY!

Batman, I promised you one a while ago - and I did not forget. Actually I packed 6 bottles, which was over ambitious from me.

To make a long story short, I hope the customs officer at LAX drink those bottles and get really sick from it!

But I'll Fedex one to you the moment I get back home - deal?

    yep!

The problem is that if you try to lie on the aplication form (everybody travelling to the US fills out two forms on the plane. One for the imigration authorities and one for customs) and get caught you're in serious trouble. So I never do that because your luggage goes through so many X-ray machines you're an idiot if you think they don't know what you're carrying.

Now visitors are allowed to bring in a certain amount of alcohol, cigarettes and other stuff (I believe one botlle of whiskey/brandy is free). For anything above that you have to pay customs duties - which is fine and usually they look at my form decide it's a little over the allowance and let me go, or not and make me pay duties on it (I freely admit that I was pushing it with 6 bottles).

This time I was unlucky in the sense that they actually visually inspected the content of my suitcase. And since this Brandy is so good because it's made privately by a friend of mine (it's moonshine OK) it does not have all the markings on the bottle that are required by the EU (there's not even a manufacturers name on there ). To shorten the story: the guys at customs told me very politely that they couldn't let me bring it into the US because they just didn't know what the it was

Frankly I don't blame them and they were almost sorry because I had a feeling they believed me, but I would have done exactly the same thing in their place.

Actually, transporting alcohol across borders has always been a touchy subject regardless which border you want to talk about (believe me I know ). But as I said, they would have probably let me get away with it, if I hadn't pushed it with the quan y.

I should have offered to drink some of it right there to prove it wasn't toxic - or would that have proven it?

I've said it in the past that I would love to be able to bring a whole Slovenian Prosciuto ham for you guys to try - THAT is truly awsome. But there is no way to bring meat over - that is a much bigger no no, for obvious reasons.

    I know!!!!!!!!!

LJ and I had a debate over this, because the original plan was geared towards the Spurs playing on Sunday. I had a backup plan if they played on Saturday, but it f...ked other things so much it wasn't a very good one - but it was doable. And then they gave us the afternoon game

I did IAH -> Kori&LJ last time in 3 hours 45 minutes so with a bit of luck...

How strict are Texas Highway cops?

P.S. Where are the German speed limits when you need them?
