For those recommended the King Kong Nachos, we had it with Slomo last night. The six of us didn't even put a dent in them. We brought the rest of them home to feed to Deuce.
I too think Chachos is extremely overrated and not that cheap (for the quality). IMO the Margaritas are about the only good thing on the menu.
We've been through the drive thru several times and they always end up putting the damn beans on there anyway. I don't really care but User hates them.
How does a restaurant become overrated? If someone really likes it, they really like it. It's not gourmet Mexican food or whatever, but it's cheap as and they give you waaaaay too much food.
I'm saying it's overrated in this forum compared to MY OPINION of the quality of food there.

Anybody ever been to Mavericks? If you want large portions that is the place to go. They have an industrial sized (what it says on menu) chicken fried steak that is the size of a thick magazine. Their steaks are also good and not too insanely priced.

I'm not just talking about the nachos, I'm talking about all their food. To me, it's just not as awesome as most people here make it out to be. *shrug* No big deal.

The second time I ate there it didn't seem as good as the first....but I like the masa tortillas they use in their enchiladas. Added to the fact that I live with the human vacuum cleaner with hollow legs and the prices are really cheap...and the 2-story play-place my kids can get lost in for at least 2 hours, I like going there.
But enough of those frozen Jack & Cokes and it could be Alpo enchiladas and it would be heaven.
Agree, if I want drive thru mexican food, I'll pick Las Palapas any day over Chacho's.
