Back in the day I knew a few guys that got in over their head with Coke. Cuban acts like that. The highs/lows, irrational and agressive behavior on the up's etc.

I know it can really affect me if I have too much.

Not sure if it's the sugar or the caffeine that gets to me.

Why should the owners have "visibility" during games. Jerry Jones, Mark Cuban, and their ilk, have such HUGE EGOS, that they crave the spotlight. Cuban is such an egomaniac that he actually thinks people are instested in his little online diatribe. I actually think his little "rants" are hurting his team.
    Cussing Bruce is beyond reprehensible
Next up: he starts going Steinbrenner on his coaches

Cuban and Jones both go overboard no doubt, but I'd rather have an owner that goes overboard than one who is invisible. I'd love to see the Spurs ownership do something to show they are happy about winning, to get excited, etc. In general owners need to be more active and visible if for no other reason than it gets the fans involved more.

Honestly, the only time I can remember seeing Holt say anything is when he was asking for a new stadium or talking about the other Spurs owned teams. It really makes me feel like it's just a business for him.

At least with Cuban and Jones you KNOW it is not JUST a business. They love the sport and they love their teams. Every fan should believe that about the owners of the teams they follow.

HoltCat isn't invisible, he attends just about every game and gets the occasional camera shot. He also has the same passion for the Spurs as Cuban does for the Mavs. He just doesn't go running his mouth to the media like an attention when things aren't going his way.

Wait, was this Cuban trying to stir up the rivalry, or just Cuban being an ass? I get those two mixed up sometimes...

When things doesn't go his way? The guy has smart people, ingenius players and supreme scouting. I wouldn't to the media about anything. From that point on...it's just execution. Refereeing then really is just an excuse.

There's a difference between getting excited about your team and making everything all about you. Cuban is so far over that line that he can't even see it from where he's standing.

Jerry Jones has toned down his act in the past few years and gained some humility, and it looks good on him. He cost the Cowboys les in the 90s by being an arrogant bas who thought he had the right to trophies, and he ran off guys like Jimmy Johnson because his ego couldn't handle anyone else in his spotlight.

In general owners need to be more active and visible if for no other reason than it gets the fans involved more.

I think you completely misunderstood me unless you're talking about Cuban's team. I'm backing up Holt.

    Don't we all.

As a Mavs fan he certainly does make us cringe at times as well. Thank goodness he is filthy stinking rich or we might just have to run him out of town. But if I am going to cuss at someone....Bowen would be a good pick. I hate that guy. I wish the Mavs could play defense like he does, but I can't stand that smug bas .

Yes, the Coyote is for that, IN GAMES. Ownership can have a huge influence on the fan base in general, much beyond what happens in games. I'm just saying it would be good for ownership to visibly show they care about the team more than the Spurs coven does.

But most either disagree with me, or don't understand what I mean. That's fine. I would just like ownership to be more vocal.

You know I find it incredible how some certain Mavs fans on this thread have the stupidity to call Bowen a " " and say they hate him and that he is a "smug bas " when THEIR owner is cursing EVERYTHING to do with San Antonio...Cuban is calling the Spurs fans/the Spurs River walk/the Spurs players horrible names...And YET Bowen is insulted even on this thread when HE Is the one who did NOT respond to Cuban's comments and instead showed CLASS by just ignoring the comments. You're telling me if it were someone like Ben Wallace or Rasheed who was cursed at...they would not curse Cuban out?

The truth is very simple...Bruce is the BEST defensive player in the NBA...and that is why it's easy for everyone to insult him...instead of giving him the credit and the respect he deserves...Very classy, Mavs fans...you guys are just following Cuban's lead...Good for you...

Holt stays out of the media for two reasons- his family and he is a recovering alcoholic. He's been a great owner and he's a good guy. He's put the best management team together in the country.
