Agreed.
It's not about exchanging wins.
Uh, it is. They've outplayed the Spurs in the series on a whole. They have a younger team, are welled coached and have an owner willing to spend money to win. They are the Spurs rival and will be one for years to come. The Mavs vs Spurs is not a rivalry

I call em' like I see em'. Everyone deserves a good ribbing now and then. Mouse is poking fun while you're acting like he just slapped your wife and called her a . It's called smack and it can be entertaining when people know how to do it right.
I did say if they went on to win tonight then we can call it a rivalry.. until then in my opinion it is not
I actually like mouse and I have mentioned it before.. what makes you think I am serious? Mouse is like a fungus..he grows on you and after a while you accept it and apply the cream..
Well, we haven't exactly "owned" the Mavs as we have in seasons past. I think it is somewhat of a rivalry.
This so-called "rivalry" hasn't gone on long enough (at least not in the minds of Spurs' fans) for there to be the kind of hatred that many of us feel for the Lakers.
It's hard to detect a tone in a post. If you weren't being serious then thats all cool and the gang. Just sounded like you were bitter.
No bitterness from me my friend.. I really have taken a liking to mouse he seems like a fairly intelligent fellow..
Now how was this man able to make his point w/o using Dirks Nuts?![]()
the same way you did without mentioning my ass.. see I knew you could accomplish that mouse man!!
I NEVER considered the Lakers a rival. I just hated their bloody guts. I still do.
looks to me like mouse is the one appling the cream and it's still dripping from the carck of your ass![]()
that's not even funny.. keep mouse away from my ass.. that's all I ask
The Yanks/BoSox rivalry before 2004 was akin to the rivalry a hammer has with a nail...
To be true rivals, both teams have to win occasionally...
Stop using it to talk with and I will![]()
I'm callin' Mouse butta' cuz he's on a roll!
But it was a real rivalry in the sense that both teams (and their fans) definitely marked the games on their calendars. Sometimes when the history is one-sided, the losing team despises the winner, but the winner hardly notices.
It has to be the most one-sided rivalry ever in sports.
The Yankees have won 39 AL Pennants, BoSox 11 - 6 happened before the Yanks won their 1st in 1921. Between 1918 and 1967, the BoSox won one AL pennant. The Yanks? 29...
The numbers really are astounding...
Hammer. Nail.
Yikes. This thread has bad kharma written all over it...
Umm. . .let's see. . .we're in a game seven in what to me feels like the toughest series this Spurs team has ever been a part of. Both teams have stepped up to the plate and played with a ton of passion and heart. The fans for both teams have experienced every possible emotion as this series has gone on. For once the Spurs are involved in a series that the entire nation is paying attention to.
Feels like a rivalry to me.
Actually, you could look at the Mavs and Spurs as part of a three-way rivalry, not only with regards to recent post-season history between the three teams, but also with regards to free agency defections and trades. Spurs trading the draft rights to Leandro Barbosa to Phoenix, Steve Nash signing with the Suns, Finley signing with the Spurs, and factor into that the recent playoff history between the three teams. I'm not sure if people look at this the same way I do, though.
It's a freaking rivalry for sure now!!
