All Finley had to do was pump fake and he had a wide open 3. Of course we still trail by one. Maybe he was trying to draw the foul, but I doubt it.

Bowen and Barry missing wide open 3s was why we lost. Championship teams hit those shots.

Yeah, yeah Aggie. We've been the best franchise for years and years under that horrible coach Pop. Damn he sucks. You stupid , because the Mavs played a heck of a series and made some key stops down the stretch in a couple of games, you dump all the mistakes the team made on Pop and his stupid coaching.

Why the do you think the majority of the players and coaches say Pop's the best in the game? Learn something about basketball and coaching before you open your mouth, you piece of . Blame everything on Pop, go ahead. Don't give the Mavs any credit.

You look stupid with your Pop hating posts. Go watch some other sport because obviously you don't know jack about basketball and coaching.

I have to agree with the original poster. Popovich got on by Avery Johnson tonight. By the 4th time they ran Tim on the block for another brick I was like where the is the guy that was killing Dallas the whole 4th qtr? Man, one play in OT? ONE PLAY?!? And to make it worse the play they ran for Ginobili in OT resulted in 2 points. They didn't even try to go back to him after that. At least mix it up between your 2 best guys man.

Then you look at the Mavs. Ball movement, players are cutting to the rim, Dirk is scoring, Howard is scoring, Stackhouse is scoring, Terry is scoring. Every single time...as soon a defender left a man to double Dirk that man went straight to the rim. Why the can't Popovich preach that? It's simple basketball.

You go to the guy that's been killing the opponent all game. I have to give Diop some major credit here for his defense and some huge plays in the OT.

    Welcome back, Aggie.
You called it early in the playoffs when you said that the Spurs could not win playing small ball. You were right on, bro.
No blame on the players, they only follow the game plan of the coach.

he was not used to playing every game big minutes
he could not because of his foot problem
he just ran out of gas
he tried to carry the spurs back from 3-1 and 20 points down tonight

TD had 41 pts and 15 rebounds. Please get that through your head. There are times in the game where heart is what matters most. Mavs made shots and played well down the stretch. You have to give credit for that. You don't ing moan like a pussy because your head is still stuck in your ass from realizing that the spurs lost. You can tell Cuban that you hope his ass gets gang raped by ing gorillas because he is a classless piece of but you respect what the mavs have done. They may not have been the better team in this series, but you have to give the mavs credit.

Simple out of bounds plays made my nervous. That is ing basic. Get the guy open and pass him the ball. . Steve Kerr was staying many times "I just hope they can get the ball in" That is shameful. Make a ing pass and execute. Avery looks like the better coach because Dallas and Dirk grew some balls. Dallas made shots and we didn't. Plain and Simple.

    off Gummi.

The Spurs team that Popovich built that won les did not junk its system of two bigs for anyone. We even played 'small ball' against Phoenix last year with Nazr manning the post.

Pop got punked by Avery, from the starting personnel decisions to Dallas running a pick and roll at Nick Van Exel every time he was in the game in this series knowing Pop would have us switch and getting Dirk or Howard isoed on NVE.

First and foremost, it goes back to small ball.

I said when the Kings series was going on that this team would not win a le with small ball. Gee, how'd that turn out?

I am tired of stupid s like you that lap up all the Spurs propaganda cranked out by the Express News. Pop got worked like a hooker on dollar night in this series.

It's comical that a puss face like that can sit there and say "we are who we are, and won't change for anyone", then he goes out and scraps his system to play stupid small ball.

The sad thing is this will all get laid at the feet of Nazr, Barry, Finley, and NVE, probably some locker room cancer stories mixed in, and everyone will overlook Pop's idiotic small ball that got him beat in this series.

I'm sick and ing tired of it all, and I could care less about what he did in '99, '03, or last year. This is about this year, and if you're grading this team our coaching deserves an F for this series.

The thing that pisses me off the most is that we could have won it. I wouldn't have been pissed if it were a blowout of something like that, but we were so close. .

What the are you rambling about? I'm talking X's and O's here and you're talking about Mark Cuban?!? Cuban, I could give 2 s about him. He's not playing or coaching the game. Give the Mavs credit? Did you not read my post? I gave them credit fool. They played a great game down the stretch and didn't stand still like statues while one guy did all the work.

Dirk gets doubled...Howard cuts to the rim for an easy layup. Terry gets doubled on the screen and rool...BAM! Dunk for Diop cutting to the rim for an easy dunk. It's simple in basketball. Your man leaves you cut to the damn rim. Give Avery Johnson credit for preaching that to his players. I was very impressed watching the Mavs offense and at the same time disgusted because a coach as good as Popovich just completely forgot about that same principle. The student whipped the master's ass tonight with basic, fundamental basketball.

The thing with the lineups was that Dallas had two bigs start:

    Diop/Dampier
    and
    Dirk

Now, I'm pretty sure that if you put Rasho, Nazr, or Horry on Dirk and double team it shouldn't be a problem, all they would have to do is force baseline and wait for the help to get there.

Perfect post. I agree. Pop was too rigid. Duncan missing 4-5 times down the stretch was awful. But you take the good with the bad. Duncan was incredible until the end.....

I rambling general statements to spurs fans, not you. "lol I thought about that but I just kept typing. It's just a way to release my anger. You and others spurs fan think Pop was to blame to the game. I think it's BS. End of story.

That's what ticked me off with the Spurs offense -- when Tim get's doubled EVERYONE STAYS PARKED at the 3 pt line like they are at an A&W root beer stand waiting for an order instead of cutting to the basket!

Meanwhile the MAVS tried to make you pay for doubling up!

Pop sucks... his belief in TD lol wtf the guy was choking... and you run one play for Manu in OT... (where he scored) geez that was stupid stupid... it was hard watching duncan choke shots after shots...

yeah guys would say but he scored 41 points for us blah blah blah blah that was in the past... the whole dallas defense was set for timmy drop was owning him. Pop should have adjusted... i know im a big manu homer but w/ good reason he was unstoppable during the 2nd half... if only duncan made that putback (that was the point of the play... manu drives duncan rebounds if he missed then putback). jesus at least give manu a chance to redeem himself
