The Kings have the second longest playoffs streak going right now behind the Spurs. When your team accomplishes that, we will talk.
yer kidding right?? You've been to the WCF's ONE FOOKIN TIME!!

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slu...v=st&type=lgns

16 out of those same 20yrs and 13 straight.

you suns fans still havent answered my question. can the suns win a le with thier horrible defense? since you seem like an idiot you will probably say yes.
Since you are obviously an idiot, the Suns nor the Kings have ever been known as defense first franchises. A team doesn't get to the WCF's simply by outscoring opponents. You're a fookin mo if you think that's true. Even the Queens played some D in their "hey day" of a two year run.

Hope you enjoy your hole cow town once the team bolts for Vegas.

You do realize that during the Kings "hey day" they were one of the top defensive teams in nearly every category. That is a little more than playing "some" D.

You call others idiots, and then you make a statement like this?
Hope you enjoy your hole cow town once the team bolts for Vegas.
Do realize exactly how hard it would be to convince the Casino owners to take NBA Basketball down from their Sports Books?

The majority of fans would choose "childish" over "ignorant" which is what tha majority of Sacramento Kings fans are showing forth in this thread.

Yeah the suns are the ones in the playoffs, but head-to-head, the Kings are better than the Phoenix Suns.
    Head to head how?

    On paper?

    C'mon...

I understand you're a fan, so you're en led to be a homer, but to claim you team, a loser in the first round, is better than a team that's still playing two rounds later is just dumb.

, your inference of "we're better defensively since Artest has arrived, thus better than the defenseless Suns" isn't even supported by anything, considering the Kings went 0-2 vs. the Suns with Artest in the lineup.

And like I always say, it's hard to talk about the Kings while they're making big changes and end the 2nd part of the season with the 2nd best record in the league, but kings > suns.
What the does this even mean?

You always say it's hard to talk about the Kings while they're making big changes? Why is it hard to talk about them? Or more importantly, why are you always saying it's hard to talk about them?

You're nucken futs to the 'enth degree!

Here you go................I can't paste it here because the format is all ed up, but check the stats for yourself. 00-01, 01-02, 02-03

I'm searching for the rankings now, they are a to find.

Yeah... until I see rankings, I can't give you credit. From just a brief search they appear to be much worse over said period than San Antonio and on par with Phoenix in PPG allowed, FG% allowed and rebounding.

I don't every remember the Suns being known as defensive teams, so until I see rankings, I'm going to guess Kings were mid-to-late teens in the majority of stats because that's where I'd guess Phoenix was during the same stretch.

EDIT: Well, according to that sites "defensive efficiency" ratings, Sacramento turns out to be a very good defensive team over that stretch.

    Seventh in 2000-01
    Sixth in 2001-02
    Second in 2002-03

However, I dispute this because a glance at the raw numbers says the system is screwy. Take your conference final season of 01-02.

Sacramento was 19th in PPG allowed, 12th in FG% allowed, 7th in rebounds per game, 15th in total steals, 22nd in total blocks and 11th in forced turnovers.

How in the world does this equate to sixth?

Yeah, I know its a to compare stats with other teams, but I guess you'll just have to take my word for it. I'm having trouble finding "actual" rankings, and I don't feel like running the numbers myself. During that two year stretch though, I believe they actually led the league in FG% allowed for a year.

And I'm not claiming the Kings have ever been known as a defensive team, but for two years they were a very solid defensive group. Right now though, the Kings are dropping that offensive mindset and look to be mimicking the likes of Detroit/San Antonio with their defensive look.

Any theories on how the Kings got such a high defensive effeciency rating with those numbers?

It blew my mind to find out the 02-03 Suns were second in that site's "defensive efficiency" rankings. They played slower and weren't bad as I recall, but I never thought them to be good.

Nah, playing no defense is probably how they have such energy on the offensive end. I cannot believe a team that played back to back 7 game series with a 7 man rotation had the legs to score 121 points in a game. But then, it was against the Mavs....

My guess is they figure FG% allowed higher than PPG allowed and other miscelaneous stats since tempo directly affects the latter more than anything.

FG% is a constant, reguardless of tempo. Meanwhile rebounds will shift, but a good defensive FG% team will get more rebounds so it also probably figures in higher.

However, I really have no clue and they don't give an equation. They, like Phoenix during that stretch, look pretty solid, but nothing overwelmed me.

Still, it says they were a top-10 team. Therefore it says you were right.

    Props...

Interesting............................It would be much easier if they just layed out the formulas that help them come to these conclusions. And the Suns were ranked second in a defensive category??? There must be something wrong with this formula

    I enjoyed your last line.

By the way, how much do average tickets run for the Suns games? How far is the arena from Tempe? I'm moving out to AZ next semester to finish off at ASU and need some advice.

yeah these suns fans are in denial if they think they play defense. they almost let you score just so they can get the ball back and run.

spoken to? this is cyberspace dumbass. i didnt know anyone was speaking. anyway you still didnt answer my question about the suns playing no defense. the kings before artest and the dallas teams in the past never won a le because they didnt play defense. the suns wont be any different. just face the fact. i like the suns dont get me wrong but they will NEVER EVER win a le if they continue to run and shoot and play no defense.
