Sadly enough I have never been. That will change this summer.
Do they also have season passes?

Yea season pass is $106. I get a pass every year.. well because I live in Bulverde so it's not that far down hwy 46.
I love Schlitterbahn, but the chances of me takign my epilepic brother to a water park are just about nil.
He's already drowned once.He was in The Corpus Children's hospitol for 7 days after being resusitated being treated for adema (secondary drowning). the brain damage he got from drowning made his epilepsy worse.
thats why he;s an 8 yr old graduating the 1st grade. Although he did manage to carry all A's![]()
Harsh.
I got to work with epilepsy patients this past semester. It is and was rough.
OH MY GOD YOU HAVE TO GO WITH US!!
My in-laws are going to watch the kids nad I'm taking my mom and sister...
HOLYCRAP it's the best thign on earth!
AND YOU CNA BRING IN YOUR OWN COOLER OF FOOD!!![]()
![]()
If we can get enough people we can do the group rate.
When are you planning on going?
We'd be game.![]()
most likely August.
we are trying to do only 1 expensive trip per month.
june - Fiesta
July - 3 day convention of Jehovah's Witnesses in Belton
and river tubing with friends in San marcos
August - Schlitterbahn
September - Sea World.
I was there yesterday. Security stopped me at the gate lol.. ... because I had a Spurs shirt on. I told them I was no bandwagoneer... they said it was embarassing... lol .
I knew the guys so it was just teasing...
We got offered this deal through one of Ed's co-workers. $50 got us a trip to Dallas, Hotel, meals, 2-day tickets to the Speedway (Nascar), and an opportunity to nose around in the pit. That $50 covers the both of us.![]()
It's wierd that Sea World charges bu ku bucks to get in for just one day..
They ONLY have either a season pass or a 2 day that's like almost as much as a season.
I tried the waterpark 2 years ago and the river tube thing was SUPER kiddy.. not deep enough.. trashed my knees (im 6' 4).
Never been to Schlitterbahn, mostly because of the costs and I've heard the lines are very long. Also because Fiesta Texas has a waterpark.
Yeah, I know it is nothing compared to Schlitter but all I care about is getting cooled off and watching the MILF's.
I'm gonna go one of these days though.
a. the cost to schlitter is not that much compared to Fiesta or sea world - $35 compared to $46/$52.
b. the lines are not that long. I have gone more than 10 times and about 2 of those times were during very busy/overcrowded days where I did have to wait in line more than 1 hr. But thats less than 20% of the time I have been. Msot of the time I am just hopping form ride to ride to river to river liek a crazy woman.
c. you can bring a cooler full of food and drinks into Schlitterbahn - thast saves you a butt load of $$ right there.
d. any sprite can will save you even more money. Plus the 2 day ticlket is worth it sionce you can go the 2nd day later in the season.
e. the lines that you do wait in are all inteh shade and you're getting sprayed with water.
f. turkey legs and grilled corn.
freaking awsome!
I don;t even like NASCAR and I;m tempted by that! lucky!
I may see you in July then because I might work at this tubes place with my friend, it is easy money.
Thanks for the info! You've just changed my mind about the Schlitter. It is on next year.![]()
I haven't been to Schlitterbaun since our 8th grade student council trip ... 20 years ago.![]()
I do need to take my kids, though ... we've been to Splashtown, but Splashtown doesn't have on Schlitterbaun.![]()
YEa it's almost too kiddy for mebut It's friggin hot... sizzling.. I hit the Torrent most of the time.. no line..
I have gone there every summer for 27 years (every year lol)
Why?We never do the carnival thing. Not even for Fiesta![]()
Obi, I'm sure you're aware, but just wanted to make sure you knew about the problems that all of the visual imput (especially strobe lights) can cause for those with ep?
Good for your brother for the As BTW!
I am sure they have a doctor that's briefed them on all those things.
Wow, TLong, how lucky that you had your camera with you on one of your three "sun days" per year there in Oregon.
His seizures are not triggered by visual stimulai. Ie video games, strobe lights etc.
He has atypical cluster pe mal seizures.
we laugh saying that kids gotta be different at everything - we've met only 2 other families who have a kid with seizures like Brians.
We'll be carrying plenty of water and snacks and he'll be gettign lots of piggy back rides.![]()
